Why Doesn't Weigh Safe Hitch Pin Lock WS05 Have Weight Capacity

I had a Connor Class V hitch pin lock and it bent on its first use. I have a 2017 F250 Superduty 3in receiver and pulling an RV at 10,000 lbs. I have a simple hitch pin that came from Ford with the truck and its stamped 21,000lb capacity. What is the capacity of this pin? I dont want a repeat of the Connor pin.

It actually does not have a weight capacity. Reason being hitch pins don't typically bear any of the weight of the trailer since the tongue weight of the trailer presses so hard down on the ball mount it pins it to the hitch tube. I am actually really surprised your pin lock was bent.

Your old lock must have been defective for it to break under normal use.
