What is the Difference Between the Curt Q20 and A20 5th Wheel Hitches for a 2017 GMC Sierra 3500

Question:

Hello, I have a 2017 GMC Sierra 3500 with 6-6inch bed and factory underbed fifth wheel prep. I would like to get one of your available kits for a 20,000lbs rated hitch with the factory prep adaptor and slider assembly. It seems there are two available, one with the Q20 and one with the A20. Please explain the differences between these two hitches, the advantages and disadvantages of each. Perhaps Ive missed something but I dont see it. Thanks.

First off the Q20 # C16536 has a 10-year limited warranty as opposed to the A20 # C16541 which has a limited lifetime warranty for the hitch and a 10 year limited for the roller.

Since the Q20 has a spherical axial bearing that allows it to move 360 degrees; not just side to side. This makes it easier to attach to your trailer and allows for a smooth ride. Even though the A20 has great comfort as well, the Q20 has an edge. Please note that the Q20 is not compatible with a Revolution or Sidewinder pin box because of this feature.

Other than that the A20 is a little easier to use and maintain as it only has 2 grease zerk fittings and just 1 pin needs to be removed so that you can remove the head when uninstalling the hitch. The Q20 has 3 zerk fittings and requires 2 pins to be pulled.

The installation rails that will allow either of these hitches to fit in the 6.6 foot bed of your 2017 GMC Sierra 3500 is part # C16023.

If you don't already have a 7-Way in the bed of your GMC I recommend installing the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Plug # 41157 to make hooking up your 7-Way from your trailer much easier.

I have attached review videos of all 4 products that you can check out.
