Comparing Gooseneck Trailer Hitches for Reese Elite Series Prep Package on a 2011 Ford F-250

Is there a difference between the elite pop in and the gooseneck adapter for the factory option 5th wheel prep package on the 2011 F250 SD diesal w/8 foot box? Is the adapter safer because of the locking pins in all 4 pop in spaces?

If you have the factory installed 5th wheel trailer hitch prep package that includes the pop in ball for a gooseneck trailer, it would be best to use it instead of the above bed gooseneck hitch # RP30845. The pop in ball is directly attached to the base rails which are attached to the truck frame which is a more ideal connection than the above bed hitch.

But, if you wanted to or needed to use the Reese Elite Series Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, # RP30845, it will fit in the pucks of the factory installed prep package and in the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kits # RP30126 or # RP30138-26 if they were not installed at the factory. I have included a link to our FAQ on the 2011 Ford and 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Prep package for reference.
