Recommended 5th-Wheel Hitch for 2017 Ford F-350 with Factory Rail Kit and Reese Sidewinder

Question:

I recently purchased a 2017 F350 with the 6foot 9inch box and factory 5th wheel hitch mount puck system. My 5th wheel trailer has a the Reese Sidewinder installed so Im wondering if I can use the Curt A20 hitch with the OEM Legs to fit in the truck along with the A20 wedge for the Sidewinder.

The Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Form OEM Legs # C16034 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit the factory rail kit on your 2017 Ford F-350. Since your 5th-wheel trailer has a Reese Sidewinder, which will give you around 22 inches of additional clearance for tight turns, you will not need a sliding 5th-wheel hitch on your 6-3/4 ft truck bed. The Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch is a great option that features an interlocking 2-jaw system to provide 360-degree jaw-to-king-pin contact as well as a nice fully articulating torsion head which will create a more stable and quiet ride. It has a gross towing weight capacity of 20,000 pounds and a vertical load limit of 5,000 pounds.

As you mentioned, you will use the Curt Sidewinder Wedge # C16992 to prevent the Sidewinder king pin from rotating in the Curt A20 Fifth Wheel Hitch.

I have attached the installation details and a video review of this hitch for you to check out.

If you do not have one already, I also recommend adding a 5th-Wheel Wiring Harness like the Curt # C56000. Once installed, this will provide a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck for easy hookup with your trailer.
