Recommended Roof Rack for Pop-Up Camper

Question:

I have a 2005 viking saga 1906st I know the SportRack Pop-Up Camper Roof Rack says it will fit anything without rounded edges. But how round is round? I mean they are not perfect 90 degree, sharp metal corners. Do you think these will work? I am also deathly afraid of drilling holes in my roof then getting leaks have you heard of any problems with these?

The brackets for the SportRack Pop-Up Camper Roof Rack # SR1020 you mentioned in your question are designed to mount to the straight edge of a camper's roof, so even a slightly curved edge may make them incompatible with your camper. Without seeing your camper it is hard to say for sure whether it will or will not fit. I have included the installation details for you to check out, as there are some directions and images portraying the kind of roof edge it needs to mount correctly.

Another option is the Swagman Roamer LT Roof Rack for Pop-Up Campers and Camper Shells # S80510. The 84-5/16" crossbars on this rack will mount to the top of the roof, so you will not need to worry about the rounded edges. I have included an image to give you a visual. This rack has a weight capacity of 150 pounds and all the necessary hardware is included. Just keep in mind that this rack is not designed for use with plastic, 1-piece trailer tops.

You should not have any issue with drilling the necessary holes into the roof of your camper. I have not heard of any problems with getting leaks after these have been installed.
