Question:
Have always had Reese hitches for my fifth wheels. My new truck has the Ford factory pucks installed. I am down to buying either the Reese Elite or the Curt Q24. Both look like great hitches. The only advantage I can see to the Reese is the jaw looks thicker vertically which may prevent chucking. The wider funnel on Reese not an issue... On both hitches I see you can remove the head so you dont have to move 150 lbs all at once. So whats better... I am not opposed to saving $ with the Q24 if it is as good.

For your 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty, either of the options you mentioned of the Curt Q24 # C16545-16017 or the Reese Elite # RP30142 are outstanding. It really comes down to preferences and your specific requirements.
The Curt hitch has a higher rated capacity, is a little heavier, has the 2 piece overlapping jaw, and has a height adjustment between 13 and 17 inches. The Curt hitch also has a lockable handle that is a nice feature, but the head can be removed as you stated.
The Reese Elite Hitch is about 24 lbs lighter, has the one piece, self latching jaw, and a height adjustment of 14-18 inches.
For the price-point, the Curt hitch is what I'd go with.
Reese Elite Series Pre-Assembled 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Wiring Harness - Single Jaw - 18,000 lbs
Curt Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Ford OEM Legs - Dual Jaw - 24,000 lbs
