how do you turn it off 2007 dodge ram prodogy box does the light stay on all the time I cant turn it off?

Brake controllers such as the P2 # 90885 have to have constant power to them otherwise you would have to go through the set up process every time. But the controller will go into a power saving mode after about 15 minutes of inactivity. While in power saving mode controllers only draw a few milliamps of power and that is such little power it would take it months of the truck just sitting for it to drain a battery.
If it does not go into power saving mode then it could be due to corrosion in or on the trailer connector(s). Corrosion can cause a short and make the controller think that the trailer is drawing power.
