Recommended Ladder Rack to Use to Carry Kayaks

I am building a trailer to carry 2 Bikes and 2 kayaks. I want to use the even keel on a tower above the trailer floor. In the QandA section on your website there is a picture of a blue pickup with a rack using two sets of even keel supports. What is that rack made of?

From what I can tell, you're referring to the photo of the blue Ford F-150 in our review section. The customer used the MaxxTow Truck Bed Ladder Rack # MT70423. The ladder rack connects to the side rails of a truck bed. That particular customer used the Yakima EvenKeel Boat Saddles # Y04052 on the work and it worked great.

I can't recommend using the MaxxTow rack on a trailer since this isn't what it was made for and hasn't been tested in such a way by the manufacturer. Especially, with an aluminum ladder rack.

Can you use an L or I kayak bar to fit 4 kayaks on a truck roof rack ? 71540

We do have a couple post-style carriers that can handle up to 4 kayaks, such as the Thule Stacker # TH830 . It sounds like you plan on mounting this to a truck bed ladder rack, which likely has thicker-than-normal crossbars, so you'll also want to add the Xadapt3 # THXADAPT3 as well. These are longer bolts that will let you attach the rack to those larger bars. 58556
