Recommended Sway Control Unit To Use On Two Trailers.

Hello, will be towing a single axle trailer with GTW of no more than 4,500 lbs pulling a Gator UTV and some gear, distributed correctly trailer does have electric brakes w/Tekonsha controller everything purchased from eTrailer. Vehicle is a 2014 Toyota Tundra Limited and the manual calls for an anti-sway device for trailer weight above 50 of vehicle weight. Normally I wouldnt mess with this for the above setup but I towed this rig last spring from Topeka KS to southern Colorado and there was some occasional but minor sway at highway speeds. It could not be felt from inside the truck, but could easily be seen full left/right oscillation in about 1 second. I also have a second trailer that is dual-axle/7,500 lbs/Bulldog coupler and this setup could definitely benefit from an anti-sway device and so a bolt-on not welded option would be preferred. What do you think?

If you are experiencing sway when towing your trailer with the UTV or when towing your tandem trailer I do recommend using a sway control adapter. I recommend the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit, part # 83660.

I would recommend either buying a sway control unit for both trailers or buying an additional ball mount plate, part # RP58062 for the second trailer that would allow you to move the sway unit from one trailer to the other.

You will need sway control brackets for the hitch ball mount to install the hitch ball for the sway control unit. For a 2-inch ball mount you will need part # RP26003.

For an additional ball that works with the sway control unit you will need part # RP58060.
