Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier Does Not Fit Class l Trailer Hitch On 2014 Chevrolet Impala
Question:
I finally received my Curt 18030 hitch mounted bike rack. When I went to check how it fit in the hitch receiver, it would not go in. The receiver measures 1.26inch and the bike rack measures 1.28 - 1.29 with an accurate digital caliper. Is there some type of industry standard? What can I do about this dilemma? Thanks -

I checked your purchase order and found you purchased the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 36407. This hitch is a 1-1/4 inch Class l hitch and should accommodate any 1-1/4 inch accessories.
Since you said you measured the inside dimension of the hitch and it is 1.26-inches, it seems the hitch is accurate and correct.
If the bike carrier you purchased does not fit because it is 1.28 or 1.29 inches then I recommend checking with the retailer for information on a fix or return the bike carrier. We do not carry the model bike carrier you mentioned in your question.
I have attached a link to our website for the hitch mounted bike carriers we offer that will work with a Class l trailer hitch.
