How to Fit Older Thule Mountaineer on a 2016 Honda Pilot Factory Crossbars

Question:

Hello, I am searching for the best way to mount an old Thule mountaineer to a 2016 Honda Pilot with factory cross bars. I see the QM3 as a possible option I think, but wonder if there is something better? Thank you

Helpful Expert Reply:

Are you missing the hardware for your Mountaineer? Or is the factory hardware just not fitting around the crossbars? If it won't fit there's really nothing I can safely recommend that would adapt the box aside from the Ride On Adapter part # TH532 which would fit your bars and then give the box square bars to attach to.

If the Mountaineer cargo box you have is an ES model (669ES) then # 05704 will fit. For older Mountaineer boxes, the correct replacement hardware is # TH04997.
