The connection point to the gooseneck ball is offset from center by 2-1/2 inches. The direction the longer portion of the legs face will depend on the year, make and model of truck you have. If the hitch is placed so the longer portion of the legs face the cab. the legs extend 19-1/2 inches from the center point of the ball toward the cab. If the hitch is situated so the shorter portion of the legs face the cab, they'd extend 17 inches.
