2000 Ford Expedition Weight Distribution System Recommendation for 8k Trailer

Question:

Hi there... I have a 2000 Expedition 5.4L V8 engine. It has a tow package with the following specs: 5000lb weight carry and 8800lb weight distribution. I am looking at purchasing a Creekside Travel Trailer this is rated at 6800lb dry and 8000lb fullly loaded. What weight distribution hitch would you recommend I purchase from you in order to safely allow my vehicle to tow this travel trailer? Thank you for your assistance and guidance on this matter.

Based on the weights you listed for your travel trailer the weight distribution system I would recommend is the Reese Trunnion system part # RP66542 that you referenced.

This system has a tongue weight range that would match up perfectly to the tongue weight your trailer would end up having when loaded.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
