Can Foam Blocks Fit Around TracRac Ladder Rack Bars to Carry a Kayak

Will it fit around the TracRac bars? Is there enough material to cut away in order for it to fit securely around the bars? If not, is there any suggestions on how to carry kayaks safely with the Tracrac? Thanks.

The TracRac ladder rack bars are quite large; too large for me to be comfortable saying that you could trim away foam blocks # SR5525 to fit around them. But I do have a solution for you. You can use the Thule Surf Pads # TH803 to protect the hull of the kayak. These pads will fit the old Thule Xsporter bars which are similar in shape and size to the TracRac bars.

You would then just need bow and stern tie downs to secure the kayak to the TracRac bars, # TH855XT.
