Trailer Wiring Harness For 2016 Nissan Frontier With Factory Tow Package

Question:

Hello, I have a 2016 Nissan Frontier, that has the tow package, it has the bracket with a covered plug for the tow wiriing. Do you sell just the adapter for this? I see the other options that include the 7 way connector, but I have this. I just need the wiring. Thanks,

Since all of the Frontiers include the wiring, they may not have the factory tow package on the vehicle. You can easily check this out two ways. Remove the passenger side kick panel and look to see if the harness with the relays is present. If not, then you will need to get a wiring harness like part # C56225. This kit includes the relays needed to activate the tow package on your Frontier. Another way to check is to find the gray connector with the cap on it that is located along the driver side frame rail near the back. Remove the cap and turn the headlights on. Use a tester like part # PTW2993 and check the pins in that gray connector. If none show a signal the relays will be needed.

You may want to check out the video I linked that shows how to test the gray plug under the vehicle to see if it is getting a signal.

If you show a signal or you find the relays are installed inside the kick panel, then you can use part # 118267 which will simply plug into the gray and black connectors on the frame rail.

When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
