Bypassing Trailer Wiring After Squirrels Ate Through It

Since getting my 2007 Cruiser by CrossRoads 5th wheel out of storage we have noticed that a squirrel has eaten through some of the wires. One appears to be the brake wire and also some wires to some lights. The brake wire looks like it was chewed in two and pulled inside the frame. Where would I find a diagram on where this wire is routed.

It probably does run through the frame but to get a wiring diagram or other technical information you would need to contact the trailer manufacturer. The easiest thing to do is to just run a new wire or wires and bypass the old wiring. There could be further damage that is unseen.

For brake wire I recommend # 10-1-1 which is sold by the foot. For the lights I recommend # DW04923-1 which is jacketed for additional protection from vicious North American Red Tailed wire munching squirrels as well as some ferrets. This wire is also sold by the foot.

For additional protection we have wire loom # 459075-1 sold by the foot. I don't know what it is about wiring that attracts wildlife. Unless they are using it to build nests or complex machines to gather nuts.
