Comparing the Curt Q20 Slider to the B&W Patriot for towing a 2015 Voltage 3305 on a 2015 Ram 2500

Question:

I have a 2015 Ram 2500 with IS Rails installed. Pulling a 2015 Voltage 3305 5th wheel. I am looking at the Curt Q20 Code C16536 and comparing that to the BandW BWRVK3270. I am not sure which is the better hitch for my situation. What is the total weight for each hitch? Ease of removal is important so that I can use my truck as a truck at times.

I can help you figure out which 5th wheel hitch will fit your needs.

Based on the specs of your gorgeous Voltage 3305 5th wheel either 5th wheel unit would be a great choice for your setup. I have personally put together both of these hitches and it was a tough decision, but if it were me, I would go with the Curt Q20 because it would be easier to break down and remove from the vehicle when it wasn't needed. The bar that connects the two slider legs can be removed and then each leg can be removed from the truck bed separately. I've also had some issues getting the head off the B&W rubber units after they have been on with pressure applied.

The total weight for the Curt Q20 # C16536 is 248lbs. This unit can be broken down into a few parts for easier removal. The head weighs 108.5lbs and the legs weigh 139.5. The total gross towing weight of the Curt Q20 is 20,000lbs. The slider has 12 inches of travel from front to back and has a hitch height adjustment of 17-1/2 to 21-1/2 inches. Both the Curt and the Patriot will fit into ISR (Industry Standard Rails)

The B&W Patriot # BWRVK3270 weighs 161lbs total. This unit can also be broken down into a few pieces for easier removal. The head weighs 52lbs. and the leg slider unit will weigh 109lbs. The total gross towing weight of the Patriot is 18,000lbs. This slider also has 12 inches of travel and a hitch height adjustment between 17-19 inches.

I have linked a installation video of both the 5th wheel hitches for you to check out.
