Trailer Hitch Comparison and Warranty Issues When Towing with a 2010 Honda CR-V

Are there any significant differences between the Hidden Hitch Class III, Curt Class III, and Draw-Tite Class III hitches for a Honda CRV 2010? Will my installation of a class III hitch to my 2010 Honda CRV void the warrenty? If not because of federal regulations, can you please send me information regarding this regulation?

The Draw-Tite, item # 75547, and Curt, item # 13555, Class III hitches available for the 2010 Honda CR-V have some differences. The Draw-Tite hitch has a maximum towing capacity of 4,500 lbs and a tongue weight of 675 lbs and the Curt hitch has a towing capacity of 3,500 lbs and a tongue weight of 350 lbs, but will perform pretty much exactly alike when towing and both have more than enough towing capacity for your CR-V. The receiver portion of the hitch will be in the same spot just below the center of the rear fascia. Keep in mind, your towing and tongue weight capacity will be limited by the capacity of your vehicle, so be sure to check your owners manual for these capacities before towing or carrying any loads.

The use of aftermarket products is protected by the Federal Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act. The Act states that if something fails on your vehicle and you take it in for warranty repair, the dealer must honor your warranty unless the failed item was the direct cause of the failure.

That being said you should consult your dealer for towing capacities and information about towing and your warranty on the 2010 Honda CR-V.

Some items you may need with the Class III hitch are listed below.

Wiring # 118427
Drawbar # 2753
Hitch Ball # 19260 or # 19247
