To install the Hayes Blackbird Trailer Brake Controller in your 1994 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer you will use the following items in addition to the controller itself. You will need Universal Wiring Adapter # HA81789-HBC that plugs in to the back of the Blackbird and provides 4 leads for hardwired installation.

You will also use our brake controller install kit # ETBC7 which includes a 7-way socket, wiring, connectors, circuit breakers, etc. - everything you need to install the Blackbird. I have linked both an install video and helpful article on the # ETBC7.

If your Blazer does not already have a 4-pole wiring harness you will need to install one of these also. You can use kit # C58044. This includes quick-splice connectors. You will use the tester included in the ETBC7 to test the wires on the truck to confirm each one's function before splicing in the 4-pole. The 4-pole's brown wires connects to your running lights, the green wire to the right stop/turn and the yellow wire to the left stop/turn. The white wire gets grounded to the vehicle.
