Parts Needed to Install 7-Way Trailer Socket on 2015 Toyota Tacoma

Question:

I have a 2015 Toyota Tacoma with the manual transmission. It has the towing package but I cant find the 7-pin connector. Have they changed it to this? Or, has the 7-pin connector not been installed?

Exactly what is included in a "tow package" varies among auto makers and can also vary between vehicle models and model years. It is possible that your 2015 Toyota Tacoma with "tow package" does not have a 7-way vehicle socket installed.

You can either obtain a harness from Toyota or you can bypass any factory wiring altogether easily enough by installing first a 4-pole harness like # 118496 from Tow Ready (shown in the linked install video) and then a 7-way by adding kit # ETBC7. This kit includes a 7-way socket, wiring, circuit breakers and connectors - everything you need to add a 7-way. An install video and article are included for you.
