Recommended Trailer Hitch And Bike Carrier For 2010 Chrysler Town And Country

I was looking at hitch receivers for a Chrysler Town and Country 2012 to carry a Yakima Ridgeback 5 and saw that the curt suggests using stabilizer straps but none of the others do. They all seem to be pretty similar, why does Curt say that but none of the others do?

Although some of the trailer hitches we offer have the same weight capacity, and you are correct that Curt requires the use of stabilizing straps like part # 18050 for all non-trailer accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers. The intent is to restrict movement of the racks and take some stress off of the hitch.

The Curt trailer hitch, part # 13364 is designed to fit your Town & Country. This is a Class lll hitch and it has a 2 inch receiver opening.

My recommendation for a trailer hitch for your vehicle is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 75579. This is also a Class lll hitch and has a 2 inch receiver opening. It has the same weight capacity as the Curt hitch but does not require a strap as a warranty requirement.

The Yakima RidgeBack, part # Y02459 would work great with the hitches we offer. The bike rack has a weight capacity of 150 lbs. This carrier weighs 36 lbs.
