Rear-Mount Bike Carrier Recommendation For 2013 BMW X3  

Question:

If we get extra plastic covers for the top attachment cables, will this make this rack work for this car? Basically there will be two plastic covers in line on each cable. We want to hold only two bikes and like the ease and locks on the Thule bike rack.

The Thule OutWay, part # TH45JV is not designed to fit your 2013 BMW X3, but we do offer some rear-mounted bike racks that will work for you.

For added security I recommend the Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Cable, 9' Long (Lock Core Sold Separately) # Y07233. along with the lock cores # Y07202 to help deter theft.

If you are carrying bikes with alternative frames like kids bikes or women's bikes I recommend using an adapter bar like part # 64005. This attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem and allows the bike to be carried more level in the carrier while providing additional ground clearance.
