Weight Distribution System for 2013 Ford F-250 Towing 11,500 LB Travel Trailer

Question:

I am looking at either the Blue Ox Sway Pro 2k/20k or the Reese straight line Dual Cam 1700/17k. It is for a 37foot Travel trailer weighing in at 11500 lbs. and a tongue weight of approx. 1500-1700 lbs. It will be pulled by a 2013 F250 CCSB 6.7. Is it possible to get a 2.5inch shank for the Blue Ox purchased separately? I appreciate any help. Thanks,

A key component to choosing the correct weight distribution system is knowing the trailer's exact tongue weight. Tongue weight is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. The ideal situation is to have the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

The Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control, # BXW2000, that you referenced offers built in sway control and accommodates trailers having a tongue weight of 1,500 to 2,000 lbs. This system includes a 2-1/2 inch adjustable shank.

The Strait-Line Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control, # RP66075, that was also mentioned offers sway control as well and is for use with trailers having a tongue weight of 1,000 to 1,700 lbs.

The only thing left is the hitch ball, part # 63840.
