Kayak Carrier Recommendation for Factory Bars of a 2015 Subaru Outback

Im contemplating purchasing a new 2015 Subaru Outback, and want to carry a 14inch fiberglass kayak about 40 lbs and a RockHopper mountain bike on the roof. Have been reading the concerns with the narrow width of the Subaru roof racks, and want to know what will work for this setup. I need to load the kayak and bike myself. Im short 54, and currently use HullyRollers on a Yakima rack on an old 1991 Volvo station wagon, sliding the kayak onto the rooftop from the rear and that has worked really well. I dont think the J style carriers will work for me too hard to heft the kayak up. Will the Even Keel carrier work on the factory-installed Subaru roof? And will there be enough room to put both the bike and kayak on top safely? image is of my current setup Thanks... Really invaluable to have somebody to ask!!!!!

I checked with Yakima and the EvenKeel part # Y04052 that you referenced has been confirmed to fit the factory crossbars of a 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon.

Without knowing the width of the factory bars or how wide your kayak is it would be pretty hard for me to know what would fit next to it. Since you already have a bike rack and the only way to transport your kayak is on the roof you could try fitting both up there. And if needed you could always use a trunk rack for the bike like part # TH9009XT which has been confirmed to fit your vehicle.
