Question:
I have a BMW 335 X drive All Wheel Drive and need to get snow chains. What do you recommend? Tires are 225/45 R18. I want an easy installation/removal. Also, where do the chains go on an all wheel drive vehicle? front or rear or do I need 2 pairs of chains? Thanks!

The snow tire chains I recommend for your BMW 335 X Drive AWD are the Thule CG9 Tire Chains # TH00023100. The chains automatically tighten and align as you drive and have a quick-release system. You simply pull a lever to release tension so you can remove the chains.
The Thule snow chains # TH00023100 have a great grip on snow and ice because they have dual-sided, D-shaped links which increase traction.
On an AWD you will install the snow tire chains on the main drive wheels but getting 2 sets for all the wheels will add steering and braking benefits. You may need to contact your local BMW dealership to double-check which wheels are the main drive ones. Usually it's the front.
Please consult your individual State or province department of motor vehicles for the most up-to-date snow chain laws. I'd also recommend checking your owner's manual to see if BMW has any recommendations/advice/prohibitions about show chains.
