Question:

I need to install a wiring harness on a 2014 Equinox.I notice there are more than one harness. which one would be the right one for this Vehicle? If it is the one with the power converter why is a converter required? thank you

For your 2014 Chevy Equinox, the vehicle wiring harness I recommend is # 118494. The converter is a nice feature because it will reduce strain on your wiring system as it connects directly to your battery. If there was ever a short in the wiring, it will only blow the converter or a fuse vs. if you had the wiring harness # 56094, a short could cause additional problems to your vehicle. A converter isn't required but it's definitely a worthwhile investment.

I highly recommend using dielectric grease part # 11755 to help prevent corrosion from water exposure.
