In order to install a brake controller in your 2008 Lexus RX 350, you will need to hardwire it in. There isn't a plug-in harness available for your vehicle. The first thing you will need is a 4-Way flat trailer connector, # 18002, unless your Lexus already has one. I have linked a video showing how it installs.
After the 4-Way is installed, or if the vehicle already has a 4-Way, you will need to install a 7-Way. Use # ETBC7 which comes with the 7-Way and the wiring and accessories needed to install the brake controller. I have included some links that show and explain the ETBC7 installation for you.
If the vehicle already has a 7-Way then you will need installation kit # 5506 instead of ETBC7. But you can still follow the relevant parts of the ETBC7 links I have provided to install kit 5506.
With that said most controllers have a wiring harness that you would hardwire to the vehicle and plug in the controller. I would need to know which brake controller you have to recommend the correct harness.
