Honda Pilot

This is exactly what I wanted and needed for my road trip. With 4 kids, my Honda Pilot would not be able to store what we needed for our vacation. This carrier let me bring our jogging stroller to the shore, while also fitting 2 body boards, 2 beach chairs and more! This carrier is sturdy and easy to fold/unfold. The walls are a great bonus, giving you the ability to store more and securing more easily with straps.

I've owned the cargo carrier for 1 year now. I put it on the back of my Subaru Forester and I haven't taken it off yet. It's so useful for so many things, vacations, delivering big packages and taking items to the landfill it was a good purchase for me

2014 Acura MDX

The M2205 Cargo Carrier is a well built product and I plan to use it to free-up space inside our 2014 Acura MDX on vacations and long trips for the family and pets. I also bought a bungie net and carabineers to secure oversized cargo. It was easy to build and install. Tightening the A2 nut and bolt requires some effort but that was the toughest part (by no means was it hard). After I installed it I tested the MDX rear hatchback and their is plenty of clearance. Shipping was fast. The only comment about shipping was the box was damaged, but the Cargo Carrier was not. I just used it for a trip between Tampa and New Orleans and it worked perfectly. I highly recommend this hitch carrier!

Difference Between Carpod M2200 And M2205 Hitch Mounted Cargo Carriers

We do carry the 23x47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier, part # M2205, and it has some great features. This cargo carrier has walls that fold flat and the entire carrier will fold up when not being used. The outside dimensions are 48-3/4 inches long x 24 inches wide x 22 inches tall, and it fits in a 2 inch receiver opening. This carrier weighs 54 lbs and it also features a shank with a 5 inch rise to provide a bit more ground clearance. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the carrier is 13 inches. The other cargo carrier that is very similar is part # M2200. The major difference between these two is that the # M2200 has a straight shank with no rise, and it has a much shorter shank that can at times be an issue with rear clearance on the back bumper of the RV. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the carrier is 4 inches. This cargo carrier can use the same cargo bag and lid mentioned above. For added security I recommend the lockable lid for the carrier, part # M2201. We also carry a weather-resistant polyester cargo bag that works with the carrier. This will protect your cargo from the elements and has 2 large zippers on the top of the bag to allow you access to your cargo. The part number for this cargo bag is # M2202. I have attached links to some product review videos about these items you can check out. You want to do is make sure you have the weight carrying capacity on your hitch and also on your 27 foot RV.

Will Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier # M2205 Clear Rear Spare Tire on 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara

You can determine if the Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier # M2205 will clear your Wrangler's rear-mounted spare tire by taking a simple measurement. Measure the distance from the center of your 2-inch hitch's hitch pin hole to the rear-most part of the vehicle - which is the back edge of the spare tire. If this measurement is less than 7-inches then the Carpod carrier will clear it even when it is folded up in its storage position. Please see the linked photo I have prepared for you. When opened up as when loaded with cargo the carrier has 13-inches of clearance from the hitch pin hole. If you need a 2-inch folding cargo carrier with more clearance than this we do have options for you that can be seen on the link provided. For example, Curt offers their 24 x 60 carrier # C18153 that provides 9-inches of clearance when folded and 19-inches when in the down position. This carrier also has a shank with 2-inches of height rise for improved ground clearance. I recommend this carrier for you since it offers the most clearance of all such items available. The linked video shows use of this carrier on a 2009 Wrangler. You'll want to keep in mind that the rated capacity for your hitch will be indicated on its safety/warning sticker. This capacity on a 2-inch Class III hitch for your vehicle is typically 350-lbs. I also suggest checking your owner's manual to see if Jeep has a tongue weight limit on the Wrangler. You'll need to account for the weight of the carrier itself - roughly 68-lbs in the case of the Curt # C18153. If your hitch is rated for 350-lbs then you could safely load up to about 282-lbs of cargo without exceeding the hitch capacity. If the vehicle's rating is lower than the hitch rating then that lower vehicle capacity becomes the limit for the entire system.
