So what we're gonna do is we're gonna replace the current retainer nut and nut that is inside our shank. So notice how we have these two tabs on the inside. You're gonna wanna push those tabs in, in order to release that retainer nut. What I actually do is I just use some hex tools and I use those to push those tabs in, in order to get them out of those holes. Now a quick tip is that if it is kinda tricky to get those tabs to go upwards instead of downwards, you may have a second person pull up on the retainer as you push it in from the side. But once you have it on the top, you can then just pull it all the way out.
Now if you're like me and you don't have much grip strength, you could just thread a strap through and that will give you enough leverage to just pop that right out. Now get your new retainer nut, and you get to choose which side you want it to be on. So if you have like a bracket on one side that you wanna avoid for the bolt, you can just choose which side. So if I want it on this side, I just pop that through and get this in. Definitely watch your fingers, but you can verify that it's in place by just looking on the side and seeing that the tabs are in the holes.
And that's it for the install process. You can now pop this into your hitch and use your anti-rattle bolt and you are good to go. And that was a look here at our Yakima Replacement Nut Retainer and Nut for your Yakima HoldUp bike rack right here at etrailer. My name is Evangeline, and I hope this helps you out..

The fault was mine, I knew it might not fit, but wanted to make sure.
YAKIMA DEVICE TOO OLD FOR ANY SPARE PARTS. REPLACED WITH ANTHER BRAND.
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.
Fit my BackSwing hitch adapter perfectly and solved my issue with the stripped nut. I just wish you could buy the nut by itself. Either way, good value. Speedy delivery. Thumbs up.
Thanks eTrailer for helping me find the part that I needed
This review is not for the item because I'm temporarily on crutches due to a foot injury so I haven't used it yet. HOWEVER, I'm giving this company 5 stars for price, product availability and terrific customer service.
