I did like almost everything about this rack. I was shopping for a rack that would hold two e-bike and was approved for use on a bumper pull travel trailer. First the sales representative at eTrailer was excellent in verifying the mounting on out trailer. The order process was quick and smooth with no issues. My order was shipped the same day that it was ordered. I was shocked at how fast the carrier was delivered, two days after it was ordered. To put the carrier together was basically one bolt. The weight was not a problem to get into the receiver on our trailer. The next was to mount the bikes to the carrier itself. The Ramp worked well with the 70 pound e-bike. Adjusting the was a bit of an issue. With how the hold down straps are mounted you have to adjust the sliding rails to fit the wheel base of your bike. When I had both of my e-bike mounted correctly the wheel only had about an inch and a half of the trie on the rail it self. I have Searched for rail extenders but have not been able to find any. Looking at my photos you will see that they need to be about 4 to 5 inches longer. Once strapped in they are secure at least while the trailer is not moving. I plan to make some extensions for poly carbonate.

Product arrived promptly and in quality packaging. Assembly instructions were clear and concise. Put the Yakama rack together in about 20 minutes. I am very happy with the heavy duty construction of the rack. I have two Aventon Aventure 2 e-bikes that weigh over 70 lbs. The rack handles the load great.

by:

The rack was very simple to assemble and install on my 2023 Hyundi Palisade. The ramp makes it so much easier to load my Electra cruiser bike. I have ordered an electric bike from EBC, and I can't wait to try loading it. I will try to follow up when I get the new bike and use the rack some more.

by:

Most e bikes are up at 80lbs.
Yakima
has been in the game for a long time and this unit is built like a tank.
The unit is heavy, but it speaks for itself.
If you are traveling any distance this is the most stable unit I have owned.

Looks like it will work great!

etrailer: prompt delivery, fair price!
Rack: It does fit my (2) Gazelle T10 eBikes. 1) I found I had to adjust every setting to get bikes to fit. Until you learn there are many adjustments, it does not seem like the center/vertical clamps will reach both seat posts. 2) The ramp is barely usable; my wheels are max it will fit and you must have at least 12ft of clearance on each side of car to get bike lined up with ramp. 3) My bikes have a "walk" feature, this is not usable as its too awkward to hold the walk button down and move around the rack. I found its easier to abandon the ramp and load front then rear wheel. I will rig up a wheel stop, on ends of each wheel holder so bike will not roll off while I strap it in. 4) Rack did NOT come with a lock for hitch pin; this is very disappointing as they say in manual this is an optional item. Every rack I have seen at least has a clip that would otherwise hold the hitch pin in if somehow the bolt loosened up. 5) The rack weight is the lightest I have found. 6) You must load the first bike (closest to car) from car passenger side. This will avoid you bike pedals hitting the vertical bar. That means you must load the 2nd bike manually as there is no way to get the pedals past the vertical bar. I will get used to this, I hope. 7) The rack is a few inches above the receiver (part that goes into hitch) so if you have a low hitch this might be an issue with ground clearance. With both bikes mounted up, it seems very stable and hopefully will be secure in travel.

I may change this to five stars after we use the rack a couple times. We were disappointed that it was evident this rack was used and returned. The parts were in a ziplock freezer bag. There is tar or some black substance on the rack. The instruction top sheet was torn off. The box is a tapped up mess. Just letting you know, I ordered a new rack.

by:

This is a great product and works beautifully! The only issue was some sloppily made plastic turn knobs that were cross threaded on arrival. However, Yakima immediately shipped out replacements. It carries two large E bikes easily. They fasten solidly and are easy to load and unload!

by:

Arrived shortly after ordering and we assembled the same day. Carried our electric bike first time and with a few adjustments to decrease bike movement we should be good to go. Love how easily and nicely it folds up.

by:

We love this rack. Both my wife and I use it all the time. I can mount and remove it in less than 5 minutes. I often transport 2 substantial ebikes. When we ride together, either of us is able to load and unload both of our bikes in less than 8 minutes. This is a solid rack and the price was definitely right. And when not in use it folds up neatly behind the bumper.

by:

Good rack for 2” receiver hitch. Seems to carry heavy e-Bikes well. I wish the vertical support was heavier gauge or an additional support

by:

Excellent bike rack. I had a very small issue trying to hook up the hitch part, but all went well. Also, I received excellent customer service from Sara. She was very helpful and extremely friendly. It was a pleasure receiving great customer service from Sara.

by:

I must say I have never had a better experience buying a product online! The videos comparing various ebike racks were every informative, candid and helped make an informed decision. I was amazed by the swift delivery - 36 hours after ordering the rack, it was at my front door. Tracking transit of the rack is extremely well integrated on the etrailer website. Yakima wanted $XX to ship their rack and etrailer shipped free. I wholeheartedly recommend eTrailer to anyone wanting a hassle free and professional transaction.

by:

We purchased this rack for our fifth wheel based on etrailer’s video and description that stated the rack’s load capacity was 66 pounds per bike. However, when we received the package, Yakima’s literature stated that the load capacity was only 40 pounds when installed on an RV. We called Dan at etrailer. He was very helpful in securing a return with a prepaid shipping label. Great customer service, just an unacceptable product for our needs.

by:

works for my setup. I have 2 lectric bikes and it carried them no problem. My minor issue is my Outdoors RV Trailer is high off the ground and the "ramp" is much too short to be helpful.

by:

Great company good product
I think Yakima
should supply a pin lock with the unit
It was maybe there on the order page
I didn’t see it Maybe add a drop thing like hey you may want to order this with your bike rack

by:

The tracks support wide tires, but clearly not for the offroad version wide tires that my Aventon bikes have and the ramp to load the bikes is completely useless as it is not wide enough for the tires so you just cannot keep the bike on the ramp. So, you have to lift the heavy bike up onto the rack and it takes two people, one to lift it in place and another to hold it while strapping it down. The center bar is not adjustable in placement and so very difficult to get two bikes properly mounted.

by:

With the assistance of the helpful staff at etrailer, we landed on the bike rack that works great for our needs. With an e-bike that is heavy to lift, it is nice having the ramp to load and unload and the frame supports are flexible enough to mount on both of our bikes without needing a bike adapter bar.

by:

Waiting to actually take our Ebikes on our first trip. Received my Yakama ramp the other day and like the way the bikes feel mounted to the car. After a long wait for delivery the rack was delivered and looked great the way it was packaged. Other than the very first step in the instructions showing an error in hole alignment for attaching the rack to the tongue, things were easy to follow.
It took quite a bit of time to adjust everything on the rack to fit my particular bikes but now that we are set it looks and feels good. The weight of the rack is a bit more than I anticipated but it feels solid.

by:

This bike rack is very well designed and easy to use. The ramp provides a great option for easy loading and unloading. The design of the clamps that attach the bikes to the rack is excellent because it works on bikes of different sizes and brands. Whenever someone mentions getting an e-bike, I recommend this rack.

by:

The rack is well designed and easy to use. The ramp is a life saver for getting heavier ebikes onto the rack.

  • Super Heavy Duty Bike Rack For Two 60 lb E-Bikes
Hello Don. Our best option for a super heavy duty bike rack is the Yakima OnRamp LX # Y88DJ. This has an 80 lb per bike rating which give you plenty of cushion. 80 lbs per bike is the max rating for any hitch mounted bike rack we offer, so this truly is the strongest rack on the market. It has a built-in ramp attachment which make loading heavy bikes easy. It will also accommodate larger tires- up to 5" wide. We made a video reviewing this rack and I have linked it for you below. • Recommended Bike Rack With Ramp For E-Bikes On A Class C Motorhome
Hi Emily, For a motorhome rated e-bike bike rack that would also have a ramp option I recommend the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack # S94FR. It has a 70lb per bike capacity and optional ramp # S32YR with an 80lb capacity to help load your heavy e-bikes. It's a frame mount design with ratcheting hooks that clamp down on the frame along with wheel cradles with straps that can fit tires up to 5" wide for a secure fit. Since this will be on a motorhome you will have to remove the pin & clip used...

  • Is There a Bike Rack For Front Hitch on Truck
Hey David, The call on the Hollywood Racks Destination E-Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # HLY66ZR not being approved for use on a front mount hitch is entirely the manufacturer's due to the increased instability at the front of the vehicle. You can do it, but the warranty will be voided, so just take note. The option we have that will work that is the closest to the Destination in that it is a platform rack that can carry heavy ebikes and also grasps the bikes by their frames is the Yakima...

  • Recommended 5th Bike Rack for Two Heavy E-Bikes That Has a Ramp
Unfortunately, Hollywood Racks doesn't have a rack that has an integrated ramp that's also rated for 5th wheels. So instead, I recommend going with the Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # Y88DJ. This rack has an integrated loading ramp, a 80 lb per bike capacity for a total of 160 lbs, and will work great with 5th wheels.

  • Recommended Bike Rack w/ a Ramp for a Bianchi E-bike and Carbon Topstone
I would be happy to! Since you mentioned both of your bikes have fenders I strongly suggest staying away from wheel mounted bike racks like the Saris MHS DUO Bike Rack item # SAR73MR you were looking at. Depending on how far down your fenders go there's a strong chance of damaging them when using a wheel mounted system. I looked up the specifications for both your Bianchi e-bike and Carbon Topstone bike. The best bike rack for this combo is going to be the Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack item...

  • Recommended Bike Rack for Lectric 3.0 Step-Thru With Fenders
The Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # Y88DJ you were looking at would actually be perfect. It looks like the Lectric 3.0 tops out at 64 lbs so the rack can handle the weight. It also uses padded clamps to hold it by the frame or seat post. This eliminates the problem of securing a bike that has fenders and a step-thru design. It will also make it easy to load with the ramps. Assuming you have a 2" hitch on both vehicles it will work for both.

I looked up your Troxus Explorer bikes and the step thru bike weighs 81.57lbs and the step over weighs 83.78lbs. You will have to remove the 11.5lb batteries to ensure your bike is under the 80lb weight limit per bike of the Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack # Y88DJ. I feel this is the best option as it includes a ramp to make loading those heavy bikes into the rack much easier. The attachment arm also allows you to connect to the frame or seat post to hold your bikes in place. And should you...

  • What is New About Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack vs. Previous Version
Hi Paul, The original Yakima OnRamp has been discontinued, and there are a number of different upgrades that come with the Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # Y88DJ. The most important for most people is probably the capacity; while the original OnRamp had a 66 lb per-bike capacity, the LX has an 80 lb per-bike capacity. The load rating doesn't get higher than that, so it can be used for even the heaviest of ebikes. It will also work with wheelbases up to 54", which is 4"...

The rack does weigh a bit more at 70lbs but it's the best option because it comes with a ramp and has adjustable padded clamps that you can move around to fit the frame of the bikes. • Will the Yakima On-Ramp LX fit a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Without a Hitch Extension
By the looks of it, Randy, the Yakima OnRamp LX # Y88DJ appears as if it will hit the spare so I'd use a hitch extender # C45791 to push the rack out farther so it won't hit the spare. I'd recommend measuring first to see if you'd even need the extender; if you have less than 12" from the center of the hitch pin hole to your spare, then you're going to need an extender. Also, using a hitch extender is going to cut your hitch's capacity by 50% so keep that in mind.

Hey Ed, thanks for reaching out! From the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest tray on the Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack # Y88DJ is 15" according to my contact at Yakima. The only extension that's approved for use with the Yakima bike racks is the StraightShot Hitch Extension # Y69VR which would give you that 22" of clearance, but it would also reduce the weight rating of your hitch by 50% and Yakima wouldn't approve of it being used on an RV so it would be a "use it at your own risk"...
