Today we're going to take a look at the Yakuma sidekick hanging storage bag for Yakuma Sky Rise tents.So, whenever you get back to your Sky Rise tent, and you've got your muddy boots, you don't want hose to muck up your bed and get everything else dirty. By using the sidekick storage bag, you can stash your boots inside here and keep them contained for your adventures the next day.It's going to be made of a durable, heavy duty tarpaulin material, so it's going to be water proof and UV resistant, so you don't have to worry about your boots getting wet during an impromptu rainstorm or anything like that while you're up in your tent. But it's also going to keep everything nice and contained.At the bottom, it does have a mesh material there so any loose material or if your shoes happen to be wet, they can drain out the bottom and get a little bit of airflow there.We'll have some additional pockets for any other accessories like maybe a water bottle, pocket knife, flashlight, really anything you'd want to have close at hand outside your tent.There's also a waterproof pocket here on the front. It's a fairly small pocket. I can fit my hand in there but it's fairly snug, so smaller items will fit really well in there. Maybe keys or anything like that.We have some hook and loop material to keep the bag closed.
There'll be three different hook spots here so that lid is able to sort of stretch out in case you have wider or taller hiking books that need a little extra space. The oversize lid makes it a litter easier to fit those inside.On the back, it's going to attach into that slide track on the outside of our tent on the Yakuma Sky Rise so it just easily slides in there with that little tube. But whenever you're not using it on your tent, it does have a handle, so you can easily put this on a backpack or other bag and transport it wherever you need or just use it as a handle to carry it around.There's also a couple little hooks here at each corner at the back of the bag. So, if you wanted to sort of strap it down or hook it onto a bigger pack or anything like that, you'll have a couple different attachment point option there as well.Again, we'll have our two mesh pockets on either side. They do stretch a little bit, so if you have a larger water bottle, it should fit in there pretty well.As far as the dimensions, it's going to be 15 inches tall by 11 inches wide and 7 inches deep.
There is a bit of flex there, so whenever you're fitting your shoes in there, it does of course bow out to accommodate any different sized footwear that you might need to store inside.And that's going to do it for our look at the sidekick hanging storage bag for Yakuma Sky Rise tents.

We're taking a round the country trip in the 2016 Miata this summer and needed more space. I made fixtures to attach it to the top of the Time Out tent trailer. The top of the Thule is very flexible so closing it takes a little work to latch the locks. Otherwise would have gotten 5 stars.
Very good design. All hardware was included. Unit was actually a little bigger than we expected, but the fit is perfect for a Nissan Xterra and the Xterra's factory crossbars. Had a problem, however, with the included Thule U-bolts--they are much too short, they need to be at least .75 in or 2 cm longer. With the Thule wing nuts as they were, there was not enough U-bolt to bite if one used the mounting plate. Had to use a dremel tool to shave off .5 cm of plastic from the wing nuts to make it work. Kind of a pain, but it beats paying $400+ for Thule aftermarket cross bar parts. All in all, pleased with the Sidekick, and very pleased with etrailer.com for their great service.
this item came as advertised. it isn't the easiest thing to put together but it works well and fits my Honda Fit. etrailer had the best price for this thule cargo box and they shipped promptly.
Super product that works very well for us. It holds just the right amount for us after moving from a large SUV to a smaller one.
One problem. In assembling, it is critical to get the keys mounted just right or it will not align with the catch. Also, it is heavy-duty enough but still needs to be mounted just right and not tightened down unevenly or the top/latch/key will not align.
Those items need to be addressed in assembly/mounting information.
after owning thule cargo box for a year i have no complaints. It holds so much stuff that it really frees up lots of room in your vehicle for passengers or what ever else you have . Latches and locks work good,light weight & easy to switch from one vehicle to another. I also have a curt hitch on my crosstrek that i ordered from e-trailer. like your fast shipping and very helpful instructional videos. e-trailer is a great company.
Best price I found on this item. Very fast shipping. The Thule Sidekick is a good box for the price. It seems a little flimsy at first but is sturdy when monted to my roof racks. Have taken it on a couple of test runs and it did great. Easy to put together with a helper. I have a 2011 Honda Element and it lines up perfectly with the factory roof racks. Great for the occasional user. Sure beats the almost $500 price tag on the Honda factory box.

Thule website said this fit my 2014 Subaru Outback. Not quite.
I had to add two holes (one for each side) to get the rear clamp to work for the bar spread.
It does swallow a lot of gear, so thumbs up.
Also, got a little bit of water inside the box driving through a down pour in North Carolina.
Replaced a Yakima RocketBox that was just way too long for this car, and had similar issues on the road.

I once had an old Yakima Cargo Box (white on top & gray bottom) & I backed out of my car port w/its lid open~~of course, I totaled it! So, I chose the small Thule Cargo Box & was disappointed in its construction. 1). The box was very flexible due to its light construction. 2). The box comes w/two locks. Couldn't get the rear lock to catch because either the lock-arm was too short or the catch mechanism was riveted too low. Anyway my Yakima was of sturdy plastic which I had for a number or years. It held about 15 cubic feet of gear instead of the 8 that this product holds. I wouldn't recommend this product to any of my friends.
Like many others, I found assembly to be...challenging. Something I found helpful was to attach the end supports first (the parts that prop the lid up when opened), BEFORE attaching the lid to the side hinges. The supports hold the lid up and allow some travel to better align holes for the hinges. Oh, I still had to get my legs inside the box for leverage and enlist the help of my 11 year-old son, but at least the lid didn't keep falling on my head while I did it!
Contrary to other reviews I've read all over the web, I did not find the lid or base to be flimsy. When assembled, the carrier felt fairly solid. Mounting is incredibly easy using the factory rails from Subaru.
Regarding size, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of room in the interior, as well as the wide opening when loading. We're mounting this on top of our 2009 Subaru Outback and it is making a significant impact on the amount of stuff that usually winds up piled in the kids' laps during trips.
Overall a great product, a fantastic value, and the perfect solution to short or mid-range vacations. I would definitely recommend the Thule Sidekick to friends and might even offer to help with assembly...maybe.
Received product on date as indicated. Was disappointed that product was not in inventory when ordered??? Assemble was easy. Hinge installation need definitely two people. Screws for hinges in package not the same as in guide sheet, thus little gray capes for outside don't fit!!!
Easy to assemble, good quality, too, but this is definitely designed for a sub-compact or just small type vehicle. I ordered thinking would be large enough for a 7 (seven) passenger van, and it wasn't large enough but for a few small pieces of our luggage. Just ignorance on my part. I will definetly order something else larger from your company. This was good quality for anyone.
Great car top carrier. A bit tricky to assemble. You definitely need someone to assist. Holds a good amount of stuff and fits on top of my Ford Escape nicely.
Great unit for the price. I've taken thing on a few trips now with great success. It's traveled a couple thousand miles on top of my Subaru outback and has made vacationing much nicer. Then when we get home it's easy to take off and store
cargo carrierI really like my cargo carrier once it was assembled but attaching the top to the bottom half was quite difficult. Now that it's done I am very happy with it.
We used this product for a family vacation to South Carolina. It did the expected job.
