Today we'll be reviewing the Yakima Ripcord multipurpose locking straps with rubber-coated buckles, 12' in length, part number Y04048. One great feature of these straps that sets it apart from most other locking straps is the thick steel cable that runs on the inside of the strap. And the steel cable is coated with a heavy-duty nylon that will add more protection from theft. The buckle at the end of the strap is coated with a soft rubber to prevent damaging any sensitive materials, and the lock cores at the center of the buckle can be swapped out to match all of your Yakima accessories. These straps do come with a lifetime warranty. Now for today's demonstration, we'll be using the Yakima Ripcord in accordance with the S.U.P.

Brah nose and tail tie downs, part number Y04060, and the Yakima S.U.P. and surfboard pads, part number Y04071, to give you a quick demonstration and example of the use for these straps. Now with our board already loaded up and onto our vehicle, we'll run our straps around the underside of the crossbar, leaving the steel buckle at the top of the board. We'll then run the same end through the opposite side of the vehicle's crossbars, and run it up through the inside of the buckle. We'll then insert the strap into the back of the buckle and tighten it down.

we'll then secure the excess strap around the two pieces of cable that go across a stand-up paddle board, and finally we'll insert our key into the lock of the buckle and secure them. We'll then repeat these steps for the other crossbar at the rear of the vehicle. Now that we've gone over some of the features and specs and demonstrated use for the Yakima Ripcord, we'll go ahead and show you how it looks driving down the road.
