You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.

1-Year No Excuses Guarantee

This tire has a 1-year No Excuses Guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way that's not covered by warranty, it will be replaced at no charge. You will also be compensated a flat labor rate for the cost of mounting the replacement tire.

Steel Lug Nut Inserts

Lionshead Aluminum Wheels with Steel Lug-Nut Inserts

This aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug nut wells. The inserts are pressed into the aluminum, and they help prevent the holes from wearing down over time. This ensures that the wheel stays secured to your trailer hub and that you won't have to constantly retorque the lug nuts.

Westlake Radials

This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.

Westlake Standard Tread Close-Up

The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Video Transcript for An In-Depth Look at the Westlake ST205/75R15 Radial Tire w 15" Eagle Aluminum Wheel

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Westlake ST205/75R15 radial trailer tire in a load range D, and it's mounted on this 15 inch glossy black Eagle series aluminum wheel with a 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire wheel assembly is ideal for RVs, campers and trailers. The wheel we mentioned, it is an aluminum wheel. It's very durable, lightweight and rustproof.

And we mentioned it's the Eagle series, which, if you notice, it's a split five spoke design with a glossy black finish. But if you look on the edge of the spokes, you can see that they put a nice machine finish on the edge to give a little bit of a shine to the wheel. They do use an automotive grade clear coat finish on the front to protect the wheel from scuffs and scratches. Now, one of the nice features I like on this wheel is they put steel inserts in the lug nut wells. And what's nice about that is it'll help to keep the wheel securely in place on your trailer hub.

Those inserts will prevent the holes from elongating or wearing down, so it eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts. The wheel itself, the diameter is 15 inches. The width on just the wheel is six inches wide. This wheel does have a bolt pattern of 5 on 4 1/2 inches. And if you wanna measure a bolt pattern like this that's an odd number of lugs, what you wanna do, pick any one of the holes, let's say this one, and then you're gonna measure across to either this hole or to that hole.

But when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of whichever hole you measure to. So on this, it'll measure 4 1/2. So this is a 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20, and the weight capacity on just the wheel is 2,150 pounds. Now if you notice, this wheel does not come with a center cap.

If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately. You do wanna make sure to get a center cap that'll have the same diameter as this pilot hole 'cause when you install your center cap, it'll go through this hole. The pilot hole diameter right here is 3.19 inches. The tire on this wheel is a Westlake radial tire. It is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester plys for a nice long life. They do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay to help prevent tread separation and it is a radial ply tire, so it is great for highway use. This is an ST tire, which stands for special trailer tire, has the sturdy sidewall so they can handle heavy loads and it is created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on other vehicles. Now the tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, right here, you'll see ST for special trailer, 205/75R15. The R means that it is a radial tire. Section width on this is eight inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated, it's 27.1. This says a load range D, which means it's an eight ply rated tire, so the maximum load capacity is 2,150 pounds at 65 PSI. Now, this assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications and I do wanna mention it does come with a speed rating. Almost all the new trailer tires do have speed ratings on 'em and they labeled it on the sidewall with a letter designation. And where you'll find it is right after the size we just went over. There's two numbers for a load index and then the letter L. Speed rating L will mean this has a 75 mile per hour speed rating. They do offer complimentary roadside assistance for two years and flat tire services available 24/7 anywhere in the US, Canada or Puerto Rico. But that should do it on this Westlake ST205/75R15 radial trailer tire in a load range D mounted on this 15 inch glossy black Eagle series aluminum wheel with a 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern.

  • Will Westlake ST205/75R15 Radial Tire w 15" Eagle Aluminum Wheel Fit Box Trailer
Hi Marcus; I can see where there might be some hesitation/confusion since we list the Westlake ST205/75R15 Radial Tire w 15" Eagle Aluminum Wheel # WST79FR as a boat trailer wheel. You can definitely use this wheel on any kind of trailer. The only reason we list them that way is because they have aluminum wheels which work really well for boat trailers because of the corrosion resistance. As long as you are currently using this tire size and have a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern on your hubs this...
