Video Transcript for All You Need to Know About the Tie-Down Anchor for Tow-Rax Low-Profile Floor Track

AJ: What's up everybody. It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to check it out this tie down anchor from Tow-Rax. It's going to fit right in your L-track and allow you to have a tie-down point wherever you need it. You see, we have two of the 24 inch L-tracks next to each other. We can move this, place this wherever we want along there to tie down whatever cargo we're going to be carrying.

Let's check it out.The metal is steel with a protective coating, so they're going to hold up when you put them in your track, if you decide to leave them there and leave your cargo tied down, out in the elements. They're also really easy to go in your track. You just line up this circle part here, this the part that pushes up. Line that up with the narrow part of the track. You just push down, you see it goes down in the track, and then you slide it back, snaps into place.I can try and pull on it.

I'm shaking the whole trailer. This isn't moving. So it's nice and sturdy, but it's also versatile, because you can pull up on that and slide it out, and move over it here if you want a tie-down point over here, or over here. It does have a safe-working load limit of 1,666 pounds, so it's going to hold up for the most of the cargo you go to tie down. I like the ring being as big as it is.

You compare it to one of the other tie down anchors, this is just quite a bit smaller. It doesn't. I mean, it slides in there nicely and pretty easily, but it just doesn't look heavy duty. You got the spring here, and I'm sure it holds up just fine. This one just fills me with more confidence thinking like, "Okay, this thing's in place. It's not going to go anywhere." I can pull and pull and pull.

I don't have to worry about anything breaking like that spring. Just seems like something could snap on that. This one seems more heavy duty, so I'd rather use this to tie down that bigger equipment on a trailer. Now, they're not just to be used on your floor, just like your L-track. If you have it mounted in an enclosed trailer up and down, they'll still work there. Be a good way to tie things down, get things out of the way and just keep things in place. Thanks for hanging out. I hope this helped.

They work better than the lighter duty anchors that came with my trailer. These anchors are better for side loads encountered with tieing down a motorcycle.
4 stars because a couple were assembled incorrectly, I took them apart and fixed them, OK now.

Just thought I would thank you and send you a pic of my truck with the
Tow-Rax installed. FYI, my bed came with the floor track on the outer
sides, but I installed track on the inner sides, the front wall, and in the
well to give me better cargo holding capability. Feel free to post the pic
as you like. Thanks for the great service and communication. This matters!

Still awesome. I actually drilledinstalled some air cargo trac on the roof of my 2017 Ram 5500. I use it to attach an aero wing to the roof when towing my rv. Great stuff, very strong, and a variety of cargo rings and fasteners.

Not good 3 of them broke after 4 months of moderate use of strapping down dirt bikes once a week or less. Iam not to happy with the product. All three broke in the same way the internal spring broke?

@Todd Sorry to hear that you've had issues with these tie downs. You might try reaching out to Tow-Rax (Phoenix USA) directly about a warranty since these are only about a year old. We do handle some warranty issues here at etrailer, but Phoenix USA prefers to handle warranties themselves so here is a link to their warranty page that you can reference - https://www.phoenixusa.com/shipping-returns

This is my 2nd order of this item from etrailer! As before, they shipped out my order quickly, These Tie-down anchors are very heavy duty and work great in my Neo Trailer . They are made for the Tow- Rax Low -Profile Floor Track which I purchased from etrailer also! I am very happy with the products, and the great service I received from etrailer. Definitely will buy from them again in the future!

by:

I bought these along with 12" L-track to add solid tie downs for trailering my motorcycle. These anchors are beefy and will give me peace of mind when trailering my bike.

These are more heavy duty than the tie down anchors that came with the trailer.

  • What Is the Diameter of the Tie-Down Anchor for Tow-Rax Low-Profile Floor Track
The Tie-Down Anchor for Tow-Rax Low-Profile Floor Track part # TWSPDSTD225 uses a ring which is 1/4" diameter. The distance inside the ring is then going to be right at 2-1/4" which you can see in the attached photo. If this was not what you were asking please try to clarify this for me that way I can better assist you. I have attached a list of our other tie-down track systems for you as well.

  • Mounting Hardware For Tow-Rax Tie Down Anchors
The mount stud tie-downs # TWSPDSTD225 will work with Tow-Rax Low-Profile Floor Track for Tie-Down Anchors # TWSP72TA. When using the # TWSPDSTD it has a breaking strength of 5,000 lbs and a working strength of 1,666 lbs. I attached a review video for you to check out as well. Mounting hardware is not included, if you wanted to use bolts and nuts to secure the track you definitely could. You would just want to take the track to hardware store to determine what diameter and length bolts...

  • Tie-Downs Available for Tow-Rax Tracks
There are only two Tow-Rax Tie-Down Anchors, the Tie-Down Anchor for Tow-Rax L-Tracks part # TWSPSSTD which is designed to be used with Tow-Rax L-Tracks like part # TWSP6DTAB and the Tow-Rax Tie-Down Anchor for Tow-Rax Low-Profile Floor Tracks part # TWSPDSTD225 which is designed to be used with Tow-Rax Low-Profile Tracks like part # TWSP72TA. I have attached a list of all the different track type/lengths but there are no other tie-downs for these tracks.

  • Recommended Mounting Hardware for Tow-Rax Low-Profile Floor Track # TWSP72TA On Aluminum Trailer
The mounting points for the Tow-Rax Low-Profile Floor Track # TWSP72TA are spaced every 12" with the 6' track having 7 mounting holes. The hole opening will accept a 1/4" countersunk screw and I recommend using a stainless steel screw for mounting on your aluminum trailer. The length will depend on your particular trailer and how thick the floor is and if you tie into the aluminum beams with any of the screw holes. This will vary based on your spacing of the aluminum beams. You will need...

This system when using the Tie-Down Anchor for Tow-Rax Low-Profile Floor Track - 1,666 lbs - Qty 1 # TWSPDSTD225 have a working limit of the 1666 lbs listed and a break strength of 5000 lbs. I recommend using a system like this along with something like the Tow-Rax Removable Wheel Chock w/ Wood Screws - 6-1/2" Wide Tires - Tubular Steel - Chrome # TWSPWC. For tie down straps, I...

  • Do You Offer Angeled L Track in 6 Lengths and Black in Color
I have a good solution for you. While the black tapered is not available in that length the Tow-Rax Low-Profile Floor Track for Tie-Down Anchors part # TWSP72TA uses the same tie downs like the Tie-Down Ring for Super Track System part # 337LR1 or the Tie-Down Anchor for Tow-Rax Low-Profile Floor Track part # TWSPDSTD225. This will come in aluminum and is silver to get the black color you prefer it can be painted or lightly powder coated to get black.

  • Can Two of the Tow-Rax Low-Profile Floor Track be Used for a Winch Mount in a Pickup Truck Bed
I reached out to my contact at Tow-Rax who confirmed that you can use the Tow-Rax Low-Profile Floor Track # TWSP72TA to install a winch mounting bracket on. The tracks will hold up just fine but you will want to make sure that your mounting hardware can withstand the 500 lbs of weight you plan on pulling up with the winch and that it isn't just mounted to the bed's sheet metal but something more solid. You will need to get creative with the hardware that you use for the winch mount though...

  • Does Tow-Rax L-Track Have Different Strength When Mounted Straight or Side-to-Side on Trailer Floor
Good question, though the load limit will be exactly the same when mounted straight along the length of the trailer or side-to-side on your trailer floor for the Tow-Rax L-Track # TWSP24TA. So you can mount the track in whichever position is most convenient for you and the load capacity of 2,000 lbs will be the same in either direction. Then for anchors you can use either the Tie-Down Anchor # TWSPSSTD or # TWSPDSTD225. To complete the set up you an also add the Tow-Rax End Piece # TWSPPGF. I...

  • Can The Tow-Rax Tie-Down Anchors Be Used For Cars
Potentially, yes. These # TWSPDSTD225 have a 1,666 lb working load limit. So depending on how many you are using, and the weight of the vehicle and trailer, they could potentially be used for a car. Generally, these would be used for tying down smaller cargo like an ATV or golf cart.
