Leaf springs, as you probably know, make up an important part of your trailer's suspension. Their main purpose is to absorb road shock as you travel, as well as allow your axle(s) to move independently of the rest of the trailer.
To mount this leaf spring, you'll need hangers welded onto your trailer frame - which you probably already have in place - as well as shackle straps and a suspension bolt. It's a good idea to replace your existing straps and bolt while you're under there working on things because they tend to wear out quickly. One thing that could help keep them from wearing out too fast would be upgrading to galvanized or zinc-plated hardware. Doing so will boost the corrosion resistance and, therefore, the longevity of your trailer.
We also always recommend replacing both of your springs at the same time because it's not unusual for leaf springs to sag and elongate over time. If you replace just the one, there's a good chance that it won't match your existing spring on the opposite side of your trailer, and that can mess up your alignment.

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this 25 and 1/4 inch long five leaf double eye spring for 6,000 pound trailer axles. Now, this leaf spring will act as part of your trailer suspension system, provides the attachment point for your trailer's axle. This is for a quantity of one leaf spring. Number of leaves again is five.
Now, the weight capacity on this spring is 3,000 pounds. When it's used with one on the other side of the axle, it'll meet the axle capacity of 6,000 pounds. Now, this uses multiple leaves to allow flexibility to absorb any road shock. Allows for a nice smooth ride, and it will reduce the wear and tear on the trailer. Ensures a nice level ride on bumpy and uneven surfaces.
This is a sturdy steel construction. Now, the bushings are included. They are nylon bushings. Now, this, the premounted hangers or the aftermarket hanger kit that's required for installation, those items we do sell separately on our website. Basically the spring will attach to a hanger that's mounted on your trailer frame at one end, and on the other end, it connects to shackle straps, which are suspended from your hanger or equalizer.
The length on a spring is always measured from the center of one eye to the center of the other. So if we take our tape measure, and if we go center to center, you should be able to see 25 and 1/4 inches. The width on the spring is one and 3/4 inches, and the eye diameter with the bushings installed is 9/16 of an inch. But that should do it for our look at this 25 and 1/4 inch long five leaf double eye spring for 6,000 pound trailer axles.

I went with 5 leaf because I tend to load it a bit heavy so I’m looking for support not to increase payload. Fit and finish are great plus I like the fact they are painted. Besides price I also chose these because they are apparently made in America (doesn’t say so on the springs) hence the 4stars. On my test drive after installing them I can feel stability has improved and trailer not so “hoppy”. I’ve made a few purchases from Etrailer and they never disappoint great value, fast shipping and communication!!
