Video Transcript for Feature Breakdown: Wet Equalizer Bolt with Castle Nut and Grease Zerk

Today we're going to take a look at the 4 11/16 long wet equalizer bolt with the greased zerk fitting on one end. It comes with a castle nut and this is for double eye springs. Now this bolt will secure your equalizer to the center hanger of tandem or triple axle trailer suspension system. The greased zerk fitting here on this end will allow for easy lubrication to keep your moving parts functioning properly. The zerk fitting right here will allow you to grease the inside of the bushing. Basically you just put your grease gun on there, pump the grease into the zerk fitting.

It will go on the inside, come out this hole and lubricate the inside of the bushing. It does also come with this castle nut which is used to secure the bolt in place and then once you install this, they do require you to use a cotter pin to slide through there to hold everything into place. Now the cotter pin is not included. We do sell that separately on our website. The specs on this, the bolt is a grade 2 bolt. The overall length, which will be measured from the very bottom of the head to the very end, is going to be right at 4 11/16th long.

The bolt size is a 7/8" diameter bolt, 9 threads per inch. Then the nut size that installs right here on the end, that is a 1 5/16th size. I happen to have an example of a 1 5/16th socket and you can see it fits exactly on there to tighten it down. That should do it for the review on the 4 11/16th long wet equalizer bolt with the greased zerk fitting and the castle nut for double eye springs.

We have had great experience with eTrailer, These parts came in as described.

by:

Fits perfectly with the new 11" equalizers I replaced on my triple axle trailer. I've heard complaints they don't come with the cotter pin. They were $.37 a piece people. Just go buy some. I always use etrailer for my trailer parts. Everything is good quality, fits perfectly, and arrives on time.

by:

Just what I needed!

by:

This product here you looking at I couldn't found it at any trailer site or store because of the square end except at etrailer love you guys was cheap fast shipping no hammer needed fits just right..

by:

very needed bolt

by:

Precisely fits!!

by:

Great product and fast shipping!

by:

Great replacement for the slipper-leaf shackle on my dump trailer. The zerk on my OEM unit snapped off and the threads were seized. It was easier to replace, then to fix. Took me 10 minutes to remove the old one and install the new one!

Works great! Easy to grease, and grease still flows fine into the shackle!

by:

I love these things. I pull heavy loads day in and day out. 3-500 miles a day everyday. I was having to replace all the undercarriage bolts and shackles once a year due to wearing the bolts in half and making the shackle bolt holes oblong shaped. There was so much slop it worried me to be on the highway doing higher speeds. I did my one your inspection and there was very little wear. And that made me happy. Last time I had to stay up until 4am with one of my workers and cut everything out from under the trailer. Then re-weld and and install everything back. It's a serious problem when you don't have time to do it. This product will help save on downtime, labor and money.

by:

Easy to find on website with about of options as well as fast shipping and great pricing

by:

The postal service mishandled my order and I would like to thank etrailer for sending me another package for free. I received them today. I've always had fair pricing and quality parts from them.

by:

Would be 5 stars but cotter pin should come with item

  • Recommended Wet Bolt for 2 Inch Wide Equalizer Slipper Springs
We do not have a part number for a push in sleeve on the Equalizer for 2" Wide Slipper Springs item # E4541-Z because it is not made for one. This equalizer uses wet bolts like item # TRFA71063 which you then fill up with grease.

  • Bolt Recommendations for a Equalizer for 2 inch Slipper Springs
For the Equalizer for 2 inch Wide Slipper Springs # TREQ1344 you will want to use a Wet Equalizer Bolt with Castle Nut and Grease Zerk # TRFA71063 for the center bolt hole. This bolt has a grease (zerk) fitting. For the side bolt hole that the spring will mount to you will want to use a Spring-Eye Bolt with Locknut # 166079. For a keeper bolt you would want a Leaf Spring Center Tie Bolt with Nut # 38-4TB. I attached an FAQ article on slipper spring suspension setups for you to check out also.

  • What Is The Difference Between Center Hangers TRHG291-C and 29-1?
The Center Hanger for TruRyde Equalizer # TRHG291-C is specifically designed to be used with the Equalizer for 2" Wide Slipper Springs # TREQ4541. This is designed to work with trailer axles from 6,000-8,000lbs. The Redline Center Hanger for 2" Wide Slipper Springs - 3-1/2" Tall # 29-1 does have identical measurements and will bolt up using the Equalizer Bolt with Cotter Pin and Castle Nut # 166078 or Wet Bolt # TRFA71063. This hanger is rated for 3,500-9,000lb axles. So it will carry...

  • Replacement Spring Hangers And Suspension Components For 8,000 lb Axles
I can certainly point you in the right direction on a few of the parts you will need. Unfortunately we do not carry a 20-3/4" long equalizer, so we do not have any kits that would accommodate that hanger size and axle spacing. We do have a few hanger kits for 2" wide slipper springs like the # H202. This comes with 4-1/4" tall front hangers, 3-1/2" tall center hangers and 5-1/4" tall rear hangers. We do not have any hangers that are 7" tall. We do have the Wet equalizer bolt # TRFA71063,...

  • Does Trailer Suspension Equalizer TREQ1304 Require Bushings
The large center hole on equalizer # TREQ1304 should be 7/8 inches in diameter. I checked your order and the equalizer bushings you bought were # TRBU13871. These have a 7/8 inch INNER diameter but the outer diameter is 1-1/8 inches which is why they will not fit. You can use bushings that have an outer diameter of 7/8 inches. We have # TRBU11568 but it is 1-3/4 inches long which is 1/4 inch shorter than the width of the equalizer. It has an inner diameter of 9/16 inches. We also have...

  • Wet Shackle Bolts to Reduce Noise from Tandem Axle Travel Trailer Suspension
If you think the cause for the noise on your 2015 Jayco Whitehawk 24RBS tandem-axle travel trailer is from the normal travel of the suspension components (leaf springs, equalizers and shackle straps), you might switch over to wet bolts. The squeaking noises from trailer suspension can be reduced by replacing standard shackle bolts with wet bolts. Wet bolts like # TRFA71063 and # 126B2 have a grease zerk fitting that allows you to maintain a layer of grease between the surfaces of those...

  • 11 Inch Long Equalizer For 2 Inch Slipper Springs & 7/8 Inch Wet Bolt
Hi Ryan, Really appreciate that detailed info, and we can get you the equalizer you're looking for, as well as the bolt. The parts you're looking for are the following: - Equalizer for 2" Wide Slipper Springs - 11" Long - 7/8" Center Hole # TREQ1304 - Wet Equalizer Bolt with Castle Nut and Grease Zerk - 4-11/16" Long - 7/8" Diameter # TRFA71063 Just note the equalizer and bolt come individually so because you need both sides you'll want to make sure you get a quantity of 2 of each.

  • Is there a Center Bushing for Equalizer TREQ1304
The center hole for equalizer # TREQ1304 is 7/8 inches in diameter. The closest match we have to a bushing that will reduce that is # TRBU11568 which has a 7/8 inch outer diameter and 9/16 inch inner diameter. But it is 1-3/4 inches long so it will come up short. If possible you could just use a 7/8 inch wet bolt, # TRFA71063, provided that the hanger mounting hole is large enough or can be bored out to 7/8 inches safely.

  • Center Bolt to Use with Equalizer # 13-108-3
You'd want to use a center bolt like part # TRFA71063 in the center hole of equalizer part # 13-108-3. Your current springs should still work just fine as it would just rest on the plate.

  • Which Wet Bolt to Use with the Slipper Spring Equalizer TRFA71063
For a 7/8 inch bolt to use with the # TREQ4541 we only have the part # TRFA71063 which is 4-11/16 inches in length. It may seem a little long but it would still work well. The wet bolts are just as strong as the non-wet bolts we carry.

  • Slipper Leaf Springs, Equalizer and Wet Bolts for 2009 PJ Dump Trailer 7 x 14 14K
Yes, the leaf spring part # e74SR would work great on a tandem axle 14k trailer like your PJ dump trailer. The equalizer part # TREQ4541 is the correct one to use as well with this spring and trailer. For wet bolts you'd need the part # TRFA71063 for a 7/8 inch center bolt and then part # 126B2 for the 9/16 inch bolts and you'd be set.

  • What is the Torque Rating for an Equalizer Bolt
Equalizer bolts, like the TruRyde Wet Equalizer Bolt, # TRFA71063, should be torqued to yield. Equalizer bolts are not given a specific torque rating because they should allow some movement of the equalizer. If they are torqued down too tight, the equalizer will have difficulty moving and that could bind up your trailers suspension. Simply tighten the bolts down until they are tight, but still allow the equalizer to move. Keep in mind, the cotter pin is not included with this bolt. The...

  • How Often Should Wet Trailer Equalizer Bolt Get Greased
It depends on how much use the trailer gets. If you do not use it very often then it is not working as much and the grease will not break down as quickly. So you will want to grease it at least once a year. If you do use the trailer frequently you might want to check it a few times a year or when you notice the ride quality has changed because the suspension is not moving as freely as it used to.
