This tire has a 1-year worry-free guarantee. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way, it will be replaced at no charge.
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at this Triangle ST235/80R16 Heavy Duty Radial Tire in a Load Range G, and it's mounted on this 16 inch Matte Black Aluminum Wheel with the eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this tire and wheel assembly is ideal for stock trailers, utility trailers, and campers. This is a Sendell Series Type 17 Aluminum Wheel. As you can see, it is a mesh design wheel.
Has a nice matte black finish to it. And if you notice, the front of the wheel and even the back of the wheel has a nice clear coating on it for protection. Now the wheel does not include a center cap. If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately on our website. You do wanna make sure, when you buy the center cap, that you get one that has the same diameter as this pilot hole, because when you install your center cap, it will go through this hole.
The pilot hole diameter on this wheel is 4.9 inches. Now the wheel dimensions, the diameter on the wheel is 16 inches. The width on just the wheel by itself is seven inches wide. Now this wheel does have a bolt pattern of eight on six and a half inches. And if you wanna measure that bolt pattern on a wheel that's an even number of lugs, like in this case, eight, it's pretty easy, because if you notice, the lug holes are directly across from each other.
So when you go to measure your bolt pattern, you just pick one of the holes, measure from the center of that hole, directly across to the center of the hole right across from it. So if you measure on this one, it would measure six and a half inches. So this is an eight lug, six and a half inch bolt pattern. This will use the wheel lug size of a half inch by 20, or nine and 16ths by 18. The weight capacity on just the wheel is 4,400 pounds.
Now the tire we mentioned, it is a Triangle Heavy Duty Special Trailer tire. And it is a special trailer design, which means it couples the strength of a bias tire with the durability and stability of a radial tire. But it is created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on any other vehicles. They do use all steel belts in this tire to enhance durability and it help extend the tread life. And if you look at it, it has a nice computer generated tread design, and they use premium rubber compound materials to give you a superior traction, wet or dry conditions. Now the size on this tire stamped on the sidewall, ST, for Special Trailer, 235/80 R 16. The R means that it is a radial tire. The section width on this tire is 9.3 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 30.8 inches. And we mentioned it's a heavy duty tire. It is a load range G, which means it's a 14 ply tire, 14 ply rating. Has a maximum load of 4,080 pounds at 110 PSI. And the last thing I do wanna mention is the trailer tires now do have a speed rating on them, and they stamp that on the sidewall with a letter designation. So if you go right after the size we went over, you'll see two numbers for the load index, and then the letter L. Speed rating L will mean it's a 75 mile per hour speed rating. Now this assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications. But that's gonna do it for the review on this Triangle 235/80 R 16 Heavy Duty Radial Tire in a Load Range G, mounted on this 16 inch Matte Black Aluminum Wheel.
