Video Transcript for TorkLift Cannon Hitch Extension for 3" Factory Hitch Receivers Spec Review

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Torklift Cannon Hitch Extension. Now this hitch extension is going to work with your factory 3-inch receiver opening to clear obstacles such as a bed-mounted camper to let you tow or use hitch-mounted accessories. And this is going to give you a 2-1/2 inch opening here on the other end. And then with the included reducer sleeve that you see here, that's going to then give you a 2-inch opening. The heavy-duty design is gonna let you maintain a high towing or carrying capacity.

And the maximum gross trailer weight, as indicated by our label here, is 4,800 pounds. And then the maximum tongue weight is 480 pounds. And then the maximum gross towing weight when used with a weight distribution is 9,600 pounds. And then the maximum tongue weight when used with weight distribution is going to be 960 pounds. Now this extension is 21 inches long, and these patented, lateral-support safety chains are gonna give you extra security and help distribute weight back from the extension receiver opening to your frame-mounted hitch.

And the hardened, reinforced pin holes here are going to prevent elongation from wear. And then this also features, hopefully you can see this here, built-in hookup loops for trailer safety chains. So you have those here. And then also we have an electrical bracket that's going to let you mount your 7-way connector. Of course that is sold separately from this.

This is not. That connector is not included with this, but you do have a place to mount that to, which is very nice, and a very nice inclusion. And then on the back here where you hook this up to your 3-inch hitch receiver, you can see that right there, we do have built-in set bolts that will tighten down this extension to prevent rattle and movement in the hitch. This is made here in the USA, a very sturdy steel construction, and it features a high-impact powder coat finish that's going to resist corrosion. And as you've no doubt noticed, the hitch and pin, hitch pin and clip rather, are included here at the opening, and then here when you hook this up to your 3-inch receiver, so those pin and clips are included.
