Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the etrailer Round Topwind Pipe Mount Swivel Jack. Now this jack is gonna be a great addition or replacement for your old jack and this is gonna be rated at 5,000 pounds capacity but it's also has a 3,000 pound lifting capacity, so for our teardrop camper that we have here it's gonna work perfectly fine. Same with a popup or any really smaller camper that you might have, this is gonna work great. Now this is a topwind jack, meaning when you raise and lower, you're gonna be winding it from the top.
And this works out really well. We have the storage rack here and there's definitely a lot of clearance still yet to where we're not gonna hit anything as we raise and lower. It's also nice too, because when you have this in the stowed position, the handle moves over making it a little bit more compact. Now, as far as how much travel this has, it's pretty good at 10 and 3 quarters. Now, when it's fully retracted, you're gonna be sitting at 11 inches and then fully extended out it's gonna be 21 and 3 quarters.
So it's a little bit shorter than your typical jack. So if you have a taller frame on your trailer you might want to look at something that might be a little bit higher up but overall, this is gonna offer a decent amount of raise and lower to accommodate a lot of your smaller trailers. The topwind handle has a radius of seven and a half inches so it's rather compact but it's still easy to crank and lower. So just keep that in mind when choosing where to mount it and make sure that you're not busting your knuckles while doing it. Now, I really do like the topwinds a little bit better than the sidewinds, because generally of the sidelines you're having to kind of bend over and kind of crank with your whole body.
The topwind here you can kind of just nice and easy, crank and lower, assuming that you have that clearance around here. Now I mentioned before this is good for trailers with shorter ground clearance. And that's one of the things with some of your other jacks that don't swivel. They do kind of get a little bit worrisome when traveling because even if you crank them all the way up they're still pretty close to the ground. And that always worries me if you catch a road gator or a little blown out tire or a big rock or something along the road.
The ground clearance just isn't there and you do run the risk of potentially damaging your jack. Well, having a pipe mount pivot or a swivel jack here is really nice because when you are ready to hit the road you just pull this pin, swivel it back, and it's gonna be in a nice stowed position, and you're gonna gain a lot of ground clearance and not have to worry about that. This handle too bends over so you can kind of get this in a position to where really, the lowest point is just this bottom part of the jack pad but overall, you have quite a bit of ground clearance. Now, if you do already have a pipe mount welded onto your trailer, you're gonna wanna make sure that it does fit this one by measuring it. And the outside diameter should be two inches. And if you don't have one already welded on, no problem, it's actually gonna come with one. So that way you can mount it to your trailer wherever you need. Now, a jack is part of the trailer that you maybe don't think about until it doesn't work. And a lot of times, if the jack stops working, it's because it's seized up from build up of rust and corrosion. And the great part about this is it has a clear zinc finish, so it's gonna hold up to that corrosion long term and it's gonna make sure that none of this mechanism actually gets built up. So that way, when you need to use your jack it's gonna be easy to wind up and down. And just to keep it maintained, there's a little inserted grease fitting that's already there for your zerk. And that way, just a few spurts of grease and this thing will be maintained. Our foot plate is also zinc coated as well. And you can see that it's welded on so this is gonna be one piece. Some of the other ones, you have separate foot pads which is just, they kind of jangle around and make noise while you're going down the road. And really, it's just one more thing to lose where this being one piece and it's attached to the jack, you don't have to worry about it. And it's got a nice surface area here which is gonna give you a nice contact patch when lifting up your trailer. And that was a look at the etrailer Topwind Pipe Mount Swivel Jack..
