This durable, lightweight aluminum ladder rack mounts to your truck's camper shell. Slotted crossbars allow for quick, simple adjustment of tie-downs and accessories. Load stops included. Carrying capacity depends on that of your truck cap.

Specs:
The corner brackets included with your CapRac ladder rack are designed to securely attach to the roof of your truck's camper shell. Position the rack on the cap and mark the area beneath the mounting brackets - this is where you will drill into your camper shell. Once the brackets are bolted into place, tighten the fasteners on the crossbars to secure the entire rack. Because the brackets are designed to pivot, the tightening process should be painless and everything should fit together quickly and easily.
The sturdy aluminum crossbars on all Thule TracRac ladder racks feature integrated slots for mounting and easily adjusting accessories, such as the included load stops. These slots appear on both the top and bottom of the bars for the ultimate in mounting versatility. Like the pieces that mount in the base rails, these accessories also have quick-release knobs that let you loosen and tighten them with a mere twist of a knob so that they can be positioned as needed along the bars.
A built-in trip strip at the front of each crossbar shields the slots from wind, maintaining the aerodynamic quality of the bars and preventing that annoying whistle you often find with slotted bars.
Included with your CapRac are four tie-down accessories. These load stops are designed to mount in the slots of the crossbars and slide along them for quick, easy adjustment. The bookend-style pieces help to hold ladders and lumber in place on the crossbars. They also have built-in loops for securing tie-down straps.
The CapVan rack system, as well most Thule TracRac accessories, is constructed of durable, lightweight aluminum. Because aluminum is lighter than steel - the material most often used for ladder racks - only a small percentage of your camper shell's capacity is taken up by the rack itself, enabling you to pack on more weight than you could with a steel system.
Even though aluminum is already rustproof in itself, Thule TracRac has taken the extra step of adding a dual powder coat finish to further protect your rack. The electrostatic powder coat (e-coat) clings to the metal surface better than traditional paint finishes for a more durable covering. The second coat is a clear finish that adds extra shine and protection from scuffs and scratches.

The racks were easy to install. A second set of hands on the install is recommended. I also added the ratchet strap tie downs which have also worked out great. After a year of use the racks are still looking and functioning as they did on the first day. I have used them to haul lumber, ladders, staging planks and an occasional kayak.
I highly recommend these racks.
So I received this order and it is not compatible to the rail mounts that my ARE topper have. These rails were recommended from ARE when I had the cap made. They said a Thule rack would install with ease with these rails. This rack seemed to be right and your site showed it compatible with my make and model. However it was very difficult getting any specific information and most everyone I talked with or chatted with said they understood my cap as I described it. However i don’t think anyone really did. I have ordered some T bolts that I think might make it possible but I’ll have to modify those as well for all the racks features to work properly. I feel for the price of this rack it should have compatible hardware for different types of roofs. I know this is Thule and not your company but figured you should know. I spoke with Thule and they tried selling me different parts that were outrageous money and when I looked them up they wouldn’t be right either. Not sure why this is so difficult but now I’ve spent more money and several hours modifying things for the right fit. Overall not real happy with this purchase but hopefully it works out.
I actually put this on my 1986 Volvo wagon/best work truck ever! And it is awesome. A little custom, but I called previously to ask the sales guys if it would work and they answered all my questions and were super helpful! People get the biggest kick out of seeing this rack get put to good use with heavy loads of wood on my Volvo! Super fun and I would recommend highly!!
First of all, I love the rack. It is very good looking and very easy to install. I looked for months to find a rack suitable for mounting my RIVERSMITH 2 BANGER fly rod holder.
I am so pleased. thank you guys so much!!!!
This is an excellent quality product if you need to carry heavy ladders, etc. I have to point out that 69" is clownishly long to put on top of a Toyota Tacoma or other smaller truck, but I'm happy to report that you can cleanly cut the size down with a chop saw fitted with an aluminum cutting blade. The end caps come unattached and I was able to cut off one end of each rail cleanly to where the end caps fit nicely. You can't tell that they were cut shorter with the caps installed.
I only had two of the small screws vibrated out of the holder bit order a rew extra in case that didn't happen again. Was most def user error lol. I love it. It hold two 1w foot Sun dolphin kayaks, all my ladders for work and is amazing. So happy I purchased it. I would definitely recommend and buy again.
I really like this rack. It was easy to install and has held up well so far. My only complaint, and the reason for only 3 stars, is that some of the components arrived with some slight dents and scratches, pretty clearly NOT from damage during shipping. Not enough to warrant sending the whole rack back, but enough to be annoying, considering I paid full price.
Great product, very solid and heavy duty, looks great and above all functions great for hauling anything from ladders, lumber, to paddle boards.
Works great.
Strong racks that can actually hold stuff. Look good too.
Wonderful. Exceeding my expectations.
I just installed the CapRak on my cap last night on my 2002 Tundra. It took about 1.5 hours to do by myself. Nice hardware. Everything fits well and the finish quality is very good. I will be using this to transport a couple of 14' long kayaks (using my Thule Hullaports) and a 18' long Sawyer canoe all over Maine and beyond with this set up. They will be very stable up there.
Sometimes I also have to bring some 16' boards to my woodshop and todays truck beds are just not suitable for that kind of haul.
I also bought the 6 foot "cargobuckle" straps to secure the loads, and they look very well made also.
I am going to buy another CapRak from my popup tent trailer soon. good product and well worth the money.
What etrailer does is make it as easy as possible to do it yourself. Between the written instructions and the videos on how to install you are covered. Remember that you do have to have tools and it is not always as easy as it shows on the video. There recommendations are spot on and their individual responses to questions are good. They could improve on several areas. Most people do not have the flexible sewing like tape measure. For putting on roof racks it is essential. Also you will need to lube the bolts for the roof racks or they will seize up while putting on the lock nuts. The packaging for the trailer hitches is sub par. One hitch arrived damaged and the next one also was sticking through the box but mostly undamaged. I imagine it is to keep the shipping costs down. Customer service has also been good. I Ordered a hitch, roof rack and basket and am satisfied.
Great up grade from my old rack. Will be much more secure for tying down ladders. Eyelets on sliding brackets and the brackets themselves are a great feature. Very pleased. Its not a negative but the tubes are a little long for the look I want on my truck. I may try trimming them down. Shipping was 3 days and ordering was a breeze.
I love the rack. It was simple to install. It's sturdy, easy to use, and it looks great!
Great product. Very sturdy construction and easily installed. Looks very nice on my cap!
Great product!! Fast delivery

Has not leaked and seems to bear loads well. Takes about 10 minutes to remove from roof when going away and need to park in garage. Only issue is slide nuts freeze up. Wd40 seems to free them up.
