These Titan Chain diamond-pattern chains are great winter weather chains. If you live in an area where you're likely to get periodic snow and ice, these chains are perfect because they're durable and easy to mount. And they're lightweight and compact, so they store in your vehicle nicely too.
These chains are among the easiest and fastest to install because they have built-in tensioners that you can just pull taut to adjust the fit. These tensioners allow the chains to fit your tires, no matter the profile or wear pattern. And because the tensioners are built-in, you never have to worry about losing them like you might with other chains on the market.
SAE Class S tire chains are designed for use on passenger vehicles with restricted wheel-well clearance. Most newer cars, vans, and small trucks - especially those with large aftermarket tires - will require Class S chains. If you're unsure about the class of your vehicle, consult your vehicle's user manual.
These chains will fit your tires provided there is both:
If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer. You'll also need to know how much clearance is in your wheel well, which you can determine by measuring from your tire tread to the sidewall of the wheel well.
We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.
You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.
Installing these chains is incredibly simple.
1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks.
2. Spread the chain around the back of the tire.
3. Connect the ends of the cable, which will sit behind the tire.
4. Around front, connect the 2 ends of the yellow side chain using the green hook at the top of the tire.
5. At the bottom of the tire, feed the silver tensioning chain through the red channel bracket and pull it taut. Then run the tensioner through as many red clips along the side chain as you can, leaving room to still be able to stretch the hook across the tire.
6. Attach the hook to the side chain directly across from the last clip you ran the tensioner through. The hook should face away from your tire. Pull your vehicle forward 2-3 vehicle lengths and recheck the tension.
How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle
To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

Brightly color-coded chains have built-in tensioners to ensure fast, easy installation and a tight fit. Never worry about misplacing parts.I have a 2018 Suburban Premier with the 22” wheels and 285/45R22 tires. I purchased two sets of these chains (four chains in all) for a trip to Mammoth California at the beginning of March 2023 during a record snow season. I was really glad that I had them as I had them all four wheels for most of a week, taking them off and putting them on at least 5 times. Part of the time I had them on I was pulling a 6x12 UHaul trailer. These chains worked flawlessly and provided a huge amount of extra traction on top of my Michelin Defender LTS M/S tires. I was a bit concerned that using the chains may cause some damage to may alloy wheels, but that did not happen. If you put them on correctly, the wheels don’t get damaged at all. The etrailer videos that show how to put the chains on accurately portray the ease of doing that. Even after a week of pretty constant use, the chains don’t show much wear at all. I would absolutely buy these again.
Chains fit and are easy to install as is shown in etrailer video
Perfect. Fair Price . Fast Shipping. I always shop here first.

I have not had to use the tire chains yet. I am glad of that, but happy I have them in my truck. I have an RV Toy Hauler I tow and its comforting to know the tire chains are with me.. In case. But, I do hope I never need to install them.
Nice chains that fit well and fairly easy to install, at least in my garage in the summer. Haven’t tried in real conditions yet. Super fast free delivery. I did have a heck of a time getting the chains laid out properly flat and without kinks for the first trial install but that was probably operator error when getting them out of the box.. Quickly learned how to properly stow and remove from the storage box which is important to make it easy to prepare for quick, drama free install.
Waited a year to write this review. These chains are amazing!!!! I have a 2WD truck and love my winter sports (I know I know). Anyways, just got back from a week in Mammoth Lakes CA, Mammoth is currently experiencing some of the most snow for the season that they've had for awhile. These chains stayed on my truck for all 5 days there. Through powder, packed snow, ice, etc. These chains DELIVERED!!!!!!!! I am so happy with them that my friends who have 4wd that were on the trip asked about them and are ordering the same ones for their trucks as well! I couldn't be more happy with the purchase.
This is actually my second set of these chains, my first set loosened up quite a bit and weren't very stable at speeds over 20 MPH. Overall, fantastic set! I know these aren't supposed to last a lifetime by any means, but still got about 2 seasons of mountain/snow wear and use with them. Price is right, install is easy once you know and understand how to put them on. Pro Tip- I went to staples and got the instruction sheet laminated, it helped tremendously, especially when you need to do a quick reference on the side of a road.
Installed on a 2017 F150 with 275/55/R20 wheels. These chains were very easy to install and watching the installation videos were very helpful. The carry case is perfect and is very compact so it doesn't take up much room in your truck cab and can fit nicely under the rear seat. It comes with a replacement chain link hitch so in case one breaks you have a backup. It would be nice to have two thought. Either way, I look forward to my trip to Boone NC winter and if I have to use the chains, I will be back to write a second review on how they worked out.
I can put these on in under 2 minutes per tire without having to drive the vehicle over the chains. Also a very nice carrying package. I purchased these as backup in the event of slippery conditions when hauling a 24' ice house of the lake. Have not had to use on the ice yet, but I did practice putting them on the tire to avoid learning curve on ice.
First .... customer service is great. I needed the chains for a trip to Northern MN. , planned on leaving on Saturday ... they were ordered on Wednesday with 2 day service. The chains arrived the next day around 1300 hrs., were well packaged, and the case for the chains is well made. Now the fun part installation. I have "baby mud" tires ... the chains don't easily slide over the surface ... not a big deal, it just takes a little longer to center the chains. However, the next issue started to annoy me. The tension chain was too long. Was I centered properly? I adjusted chain again ... still too loose. Back to the video. You can pickup some of the slack by the link that attaches to the green hook. Ok ... better, but still too loose. Back to the product reviews. I was not alone .... the fix (per mfg) was simple and now obvious. Loop the tension chain over the yellow chain once (you're simulating another red hoop) and the attach the tension chain. Readjust after driving a short distance. I'm sure they will perform well ... the test willl be snow covered looging roads. The one thing I suggest is to put them on in good conditions .... better to resolves any issues in a nice enviroment.
2020 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss. Chains only fit on rear tires(275/65r18). Worked excellent. Easy to install. No movement of chains while driving (under 25 mph). Happy with my purchase. I wish I could fit chains on front tires!
Fit well even on 20s. Adequate clearance. Relatively easy to install.

Used them once but they worked well and went on nicely.
Only used them a couple of times in my 3/4 ton pickup. Once with an empty bed and once with a 1400lb camper in the bed. They did not break, so that's good. For frequent use, I'd go with a heavier chain.
Fiddly to get on, but all chains I've ever used have been.
I like the carry case--it's just the right size to be easy to stow the chains and no bigger. Quality construction.
These chains fit perfect on my 2015 GMC Sierra all terrain with 20” wheels. They have come in handy many times.
Fortunately and unfortunately, I have not had to use them. I've taken them with me on trips to Reno, NV via the 395, but I didn't have to stop to install them. Going to Lake Tahoe next month...we'll see!
Super easy to install took me about 10 minutes to install, not bad for my first time. Highly recommend, perfect fit for my Nissan titan 2020. Chain’s came with a travel case”thank you “ pictures posted it’s just a practice test.
Best chains I could find for my Cadillac Escalade. I liked the Thule chains for my Lexus.
We recently had 8” of snow and single digit temps. My neighbor has these chains, his was one of the few vehicles moving in our neighborhood. I promptly ordered a set. Well made, easy to install and performs.
shipping was fast and package came without any damage---the chains came in a Very nice storage hard bag----with nice paper instruction photos------Put the chains on in my shop--on my 2018 Chev 2500 HD 4X4 (Alaskan)----Put on the front steer axle--fit great with lots of clearance----4 star only because maybe a nice Plastic pad with instruction photos on it for when there's snow& slush on the road
eTrailer made it easy to figure out which chains were the right fit for my truck and my car. I've used them on both vehicles numerous times and have been very happy. They are easy to put on and take off and gave me the added traction I need to negotiate the very steep hill I live on.
Unique way of installing the chains. I am used to draping and hooking. The chains fit nice and come in a handy storage bag I can keep in the truck. Perfect for emergencies.
Have not had to use them yet… however I think they will work great!
I bought these for a '21 F-150 4x4 which requires S class chains for the front wheels (very poor decision by Ford!). Admittedly having to go to the lightweight class S chain limits options but whoever designed this rube goldberg operation never put chains on a truck with P275/65R18 tires and certainly never drove with them on. The mounting instructions are pretty straight forward and the chains go on quickly but the tightening arrangement is a joke and the chain will slap the body at anything more than a 1-2 mph crawl since the "tightener" leaves the chains VERY loose when installed per the instructions. You could probably remove a few links from the tightener but their pretty lightweight to begin with and you might have trouble getting the end piece securely connected back to the remaining links. You will definitely need to apply a set of traditional 5-6 point tighteners (I like the rubber ones versus the metal spring ones since they don't ice up) to make these chains work. I also think it will be very difficult to unhook the inside rubber loop of this chain set once you get a bit of snow and ice packed on it but I haven't had a chance to try that yet. I have purchased chains from etrailer.com for years and they have always had top notch products...until now. Perhaps these fit better on a larger tire but not on these factory 18" Michelins. On the plus side the delivery from etrailer was very fast.

This sounds pretty frustrating. You do have to run the tensioner through at least one of the red rings. Pull the tensioner across the tire and fasten it to the yellow chain on the opposite side. You can also purchase something like item # TCMA2 to make the chains tighter.

The vehicle and tire chain I received look great. (No snow, yet, haven't tried them on). But, I have been purchasing from Etrailer and their personal assistance is on the remarkable side these days. Real people talk to you if you have a question. Imagine that!! The tire chains arrived right on time (I was worried, we were getting ready to leave for snow country in our RV) so I am a happy camper. Thanks, etrailer.

Thanks. Like all chains they work best when never needed. Hopefully the will continue to work in this capacity. If I ever do have to use them, I”ll let you know.
Outstanding and timely service despite supply chain issues. I had reviewed many chain/cable options, however I desired actual chains with appropriate clearance on a Jeep Gladiator. Appreciate the excellent website and sizing guidance.

Purchased these chains for annual winter trips into the Appalachian mountains. Finally had the chance to use them. Initially took me a moment to get on the first tire mittens and -17degrees with 20mph winds and hadn’t attempted since original purchase. Thereafter relatively simple. Made all the difference with ability to move around town safely. Highly recommend
I haven’t actually used them yet in the snow, but have tried them on the wheels to ensure fit. They have served the purpose of knowing I have them in the SUV in case I need them, so for that, I give them a 5.

A year into ownership, I still have the chains and carry them with me whenever I think I may encounter conditions where they will be needed. The still look like new are easy to pack for a trip with the nice case that comes with them.
