Video Transcript for Feature Review Valterra Bladex Waste Valve for RV Black Water Tank

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra RV waste valve. This unit simply adds or replaces a waste valve on your RV's waste system. It's going to be made from a strong and durable black plastic construction. It does come with the end cap right here for the drain outlet. The cap is going to be tethered to the unit so you don't have to worry about accidentally losing that or misplacing it. The connection point right here for your drain hose, this is going to accept your standard three inch diameter drain hose with a bayonet style fitting. That's got four attachment prongs on there.

Then you're going to have the easily accessible handle up here that's a t-grip handle. That's going to open and close the gate. The other side that connects to your RV's plumbing system. This is going to accept three inch standard plumbing pipe, so what we can do is simply take an internal measurement of that. As we do, you'll see that that is going to give us a measurement internally of about three and a half inches.

That's the diameter there, inside edge to inside edge, so your plumbing pipe on your RV, that's going to have an internal diameter of three inches. That's going to have quarter inch wall tubing on it. When you combine that three inch inner diameter with a quarter inch on each side of the tubing, that's where we get the three and a half inch diameter from, which will fit perfectly inside of the connection point here on this waste valve. Overall, it's a nice structural design. The hardware's included. The unit's already pre-assembled.

The t-handle's going to make opening and closing the gate quick and easy. The unit's already assembled and it has the appropriate seals internally to offer a leak-proof performance. The last thing I want to mention is I just want to go over some overall measurements with you. What we can do is I'm just going to take and overall length measurement of the unit with it closed and then with the handle fully extended. When we do that from edge to edge, we're looking at a measurement of about nine and a half inches. When we extend that out, that's going to increase it to around 13 inches.

That's going to do it for today's look at the Valterra RV waste valve.

Last November I purchased a drain valve from etailer. I recently got around to installing it on my 2018 Montana High Country fifth wheel camper. The valve shut offs are operated by (throttle) cable. These valves do not always close completely. I chose to install the valve at the outlet just in case the cable valves don't completely close. Attached is a before and after picture.
Thank you etrailer.

by:

My experience with Valterra valves is that they're very reliable and of good quality. This valve fit perfectly for my application (on a 3in ABS sewer pipe) I was able to install in minutes. Used my old cap as it has a hose bib.
Very satisfied with price, quality and fitment.

Works very well. As always, very fast shipping, item as promised.

One of my best purchases. Really makes drain process so much easier and cleaner.

Product arrived as expected. I haven’t installed the product but have exercised the valve found it to be lubed properly and function smoothly and it confirms while my current valve is operable its not operating properly so I’m glad I’ll now be able to replace it with a quality product and have peace of mind that I’m not polluting the highways with you know what. It combines and replaces two separate parts for my specific RV so it’s all around a win win

by:

Made well. Works good

by:

As always, great products at a reasonable price.

by:

It was exactly what I ordered,One on my travel trailer, hanger broke,it kind of disintegrated, before I noticed it,while dragging on the street. This looks easy to replace and will be good to go on my next camping trip.
I have order things before from ETrailer and am always completely satisfied.

by:

I would swear I bought the slip on version but in my case this version that was shipped worked perfect. 2020 Jayco has two grey and one black exiting to this 3" RV drain. Consistently I would get at least one gallon of grey sewage when opening the cover. Could be a leaking valve (hidden away under the bellows skirting or it could be residual in the pipes. In either case I hacksaw cut out the existing bayonet hub then cemented this in (just like your PVC sprinkler pipes) it's place at the end of the run. So I now have 3 stock valves and one new 3" value exactly the same distance under the trailer as was the stock cover and bayonet hub. You might call it my emergency valve. Easy access and easy maintenance...the way it should be! I did not buy the ridiculous $5,000+ warranty and dealer wants $180 per hour not including the repair, plus the tech never called my back. Typical customer service in the RV world. Works if you have enough PVC exposed to make the cut. Sorry no photos.

by:

The waste valve is really a must have. If you have ever opened the cap on your sewer drain only to discover that one of your valves was not shut properly, you will understand why. It is easy to install and smooth to operate.

by:

Products are delivered as promised.

by:

Had a cable system for black and gray disposal. Always hard to open. Replaced with traditional valves. Worked perfectly.

Works good

by:

Works as intended. Slide is easy to move and seals to prevent water bypassing the gate.

by:

I ordered a Valterra 3" RV waste valve. This valve was shipped and received very fast. I haven't had a chance to install it yet. I'm sure it will do what I need it to do. It will be used on a portable dump tank.
Very good service from etrailer and I will order from them again.

by:

Fitment is excellent and works as it should! Nice tight close. I bought this to add at the end of my drain as the one inside the body wasn’t quite closing off properly leaving slight drainage.

by:

I won't have any surprises next time I remove the cap to attach the sewer hose.

by:

Had one of my valves that leaked and when taking cap off to hook up hose, out came a mess on ground. This installed on end of dump pipe ended that problem.

by:

Great product to prevent surprises when it's time to empty the black and grey tanks. It's also a backup in case one of the drain valves gets stuck open.

by:

Excellent quality, packaged very well. Arrived sooner than expected! Great online service for parts. Parts will be used to separate black water from grey water, black water to septic, grey water to tank for other uses. Thanks again,

by:

e-trailer always gives me fast service with fair pricing. I have 2 boats, 1 RV, and a motorcycle trailer all complimented with upgrades from e-trailer.

by:

Was a bit more difficult to install than anticipated. Matting up to the old plumbing was interesting. In the end was able to get everything working properly. Has seen limited use since the repair. Did do a cursory look at it the other day and all worked as it was supposed to. Happy with the results.

by:

Fast service. Great product

by:

  • How To Remove An Old Waste Valve Flange Fitting To Install A New Waste Valve
Hi Nicole, The only way to remove a fitting with ABS cement used on it would be to cut it off from the pipe. If there's nothing wrong with the flange then I recommend just removing the gasket that's still sticking out from it and removing the flange fitting on the new waste valve # T50 and then bolting it to the old flange fitting. Just make sure you use the new gasket from the # T50 when connecting to the old flange. I've attached a video below where I did this on a double waste valve...

  • Sewer Drain Valve and Hose Needed for Current Drain System
Since sewage connectors do need a proper seal (typically by using solvent # A05-0303) I do recommend changing out some of your sewage pipes as they are looking a bit rough. It does look like you have a 3" round pipe from your photo so if you were to keep your current system you could possibly use a Fernco rubber sleeve to connect the Valterra Coupling # F02-2025BK to either an extension or to the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve # T50. If you need an extension you will put this waste valve...

The Valterra Waste Valve for RV Black Water Tank , # T58 has a bayonet style connection. It will lock in to place from the four bayonet connections on one end and 3" Lugs on the other. Please see the attached image. If you are looking for something that accepts standard 3" plumbing pipe, the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve for RV Black Water Tank - 3" Hub to 3" Lug, # T50 is available. This requires an ABS solvent for installation. Please note the attached product review video.

  • Availability of Valterra Waste Valve Body without Cable
I do have an option for you, however the exact valve body that is included with the Valterra Waste Valve w/ Flexible Cable # TC372 you mentioned is not available as a separate part from the manufacturer. What you can use instead is the Valterra Waste Valve Body # T1003PBC. This is a very similar valve body that will work the same as what is included with the kit you mentioned. The body features a 3 inch diameter passage to allow wastewater to travel when it's open and the body, seals,...

  • Difference Between Valterra Bladex Waste Valves T50 and T50A
So the difference is purely in how the two connect to your sewer pipe, which will also tell you which one you need; one will slide into the pipe (the spigot) while the other will slide onto the pipe (the hub): - Slide Into Pipe: Valterra Waste Valve for RV Black Water Tank - 3" Spigot to 3" Lug # T50A - Slide Onto Pipe: Valterra Bladex Waste Valve for RV Black Water Tank - 3" Hub to 3" Lug # T50 To secure the valves to your pipe you would just need the Valterra ABS Solvent Cement # A05-0303.

  • Are There Installation Differences Between LaSalle Bristol, Valterra, And Camco Wastewater Valves
No they will all mount differently. For example, LaSalle Bristol Cable-Actuated RV Waste Valve - Black Water Tank - Spigot to Spigot - 96" Cable, part # 34466N4BB96GM, needs ABS solvent cement, part # 3447530889, to secure the valve to your sewer pipe. Valterra Bladex Waste Valve for RV Black Water Tank - 3" Hub to 3" Lug, part # T50, also uses ABS solvent cement, part # A05-0303, but Valterra Waste Valve for RV Black Water Tank - Twist On - 3" Bayonet Hooks to 3" Lug, part # T58, is...

The waste valve you came from, part # T58 is not a valve that uses glue because it is designed to attach to the RV side and the waste tube with the bayonet adapters on each side of the valve. We do have waste valves that do require gluing. I have attached a link to the waste valves we offer. You can use the filter on the page to find the correct size you need. We do offer part # T50. • Replacement RV Black Water Waste Valve for 3-Inch Sewer Pipe
It sounds like you're looking a for a new valve assembly for your black water tank. • How Should RV Waste Gate Valve Be Oriented When Being Installed
Hi Mike, Gate valves should be almost perpendicular between the ground and trailer frame. There's a slight angle down so that gravity will help empty the tanks but we're only talking about a few degrees for most setups. Placing it so that the gate is facing down would likely put more pressure on the gate, depending on the amount of waste in the system, and would likely leak out as the seals wear. Having it in the normal orientation would lessen the amount of waste water and solids sitting...

  • Can the Valterra Bladex Valve Handle With Cable Extension be Used With the Bladex Waste Valve # T50
The Valterra Bladex Waste Valve for RV Black Water Tank # T50 that you referenced has a handle that is attached to a tube, and the Valterra Cable with Valve Handle # TC72PB uses a cable for the extension so they are not compatible. • Are RV Sewer Drain Hoses Universal
There are generally two wastewater tanks on an RV. The grey water tank which contains waste from the sinks and the black water tank which contains waste from the toilet. The grey water tank generally uses a 1-1/2" diameter tubing whereas the black water tank generally uses a 3" diameter tubing. If you measure the diameter of the waste valve that should give you a good idea of what size you need but most do follow the 3" diameter for black and 1-1/2" diameter for grey standard.
