Note: Disc brakes require a higher line pressure (1,500 psi) than standard drum brakes (1,000 psi). To achieve this pressure, a brake actuator with a 1,500-psi rating is required.

An increasing number of trailer owners are switching over to disc brakes, and with good reason. Disc brake calipers have only one moving part, as opposed to the many moving parts you find with drum brakes. This means that with disc brakes there are fewer parts to maintain, fewer parts to get damaged and fewer parts to repair or replace, thus reducing the cost of maintenance.

Performance increases as well. Disc brakes deliver consistent braking even at highway speeds, unlike drum brakes, which often show a substantial drop in braking torque at higher speeds. In addition, disc brakes offer a much shorter stopping distance than drum brakes.

Brakes were great for almost a year, then one of the pistons started sticking causing me to have to do an emergency repair on the side of the road. Luckily I caught it soon enough that I think the hubs and rotor are ok. Brakes have been used 95% in freshwater with only one trip to Florida where they were immediately heavily rinsed with fresh water.

I ordered this kit so to have spare parts for the Titan disc brake kit which I installed from my previous order. From past experience I discovered it is always good to have these parts available and on hand for when a wheel bearing destroys itself on a Sunday morning 500 miles from nowhere and a person should be prepared with the knowledge how to do this work on the shoulder of the road by ones self! So much for roadside service it just doesn’t work for all locations as those insurance company’s advertise.
In short even with the best of quality parts(which I am happy to say etrailer has always supplied me with) there will be failures which can put a big hole in vacation budget!
This kit was just as advertised and includes everything to replace one complete hub assembly ,bearings ,disc brake and rotor (just what you would need for that roadside repair).
Also many thanks to the folks at etrailer for delveloping such a good Hydraulic disc brake kit to replace the horrible electric brakes that came with our trailer.
They never really worked well no Mather what special adjustments or service that was performed on them! The trailer manufacturers should be ashamed for ever using them in the first place and for safety’s sake electric brakes should be outlawed!

The brake system is awesome. The best trailer brakes I have ever owned. Unfortunately I had a rock kick up, jam between the trailer frame and brake causing damage to one assembly. The people at etrailer are great to deal with and everything I needed arrived quickly. The entire swap over took less than an hour as the setup is so simple.

by:

This brake assembly has been working great for me. It was easy to install (see install video on etrailer site if needed) and gives me great piece of mind. This brake assembly has seen over 1500 miles so far for me.

by:

Brake rotor/caliper kit worked like a charm. Will definitely buy from again!!

by:

These discs are noticeably stronger than my old drums. I was happy to find this kit came with everything I needed for install.

by:

This is a great product and was exactly as advertised. The shipping and packaging was done very well and arrived to my door in perfect condition. Shipping was fast and the price was amazing, if I was to source the parts locally it would have cost over triple the price. Thank you for your service.

by:

Received a wrong part in a brake kit I ordered the correct part was sent and all is good.

Customer service is amazing I will be ordering all my trailer needs from etrailer

by:

  • How to Convert From Drum to Disc Brakes on Keystone Travel Trailer
Okay, so there's a number of things you'll need to convert your Keystone travel trailer from drum to disc brakes, and I'll detail how to determine that. You'll need a hub and rotor disc brake kit, though we don't have a way of knowing specifically what hub you have. This means you will need to take apart your current hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them. If you are unable to find them,...

  • Need To Replace Titan 225 Caliper From Titan 4843100 Disc Brake Kit
Good morning, James. The Titan 4843100 disc brake kit uses the Titan 225 Calipers. The correct replacement for this is the Dexter calipers # K71-773-02 for passenger side and # K71-773-01 for drivers side. The Dexter Disc Brake Assembly # T10HREKITBB also contains a replacement for this. This does come with a caliper, brake pads, hub/rotor, bearings and bracket.

  • Identifying Capacity and Replacement Parts for UFP Axle
According to Dexter, this is a 3,750 lb torsion axle with a 90.3" hub face measurement. More than likely your axle uses # L68149 and # L44649 bearings with a # 168255TB grease seal. You will need to verify this information since Dexter did not have it available. Assuming that is correct, we have the following parts available depending on what you need: -Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-35-K -Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-550-35-K -Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-35-SA -Dexter...

  • Replacement Hub and Rotor Assembly with 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern for 3,500 Pound Trailer Axle
From my research the hub and rotor assembly you're looking for is for a 3,500 pound axle with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. It uses bearings # L68149 and # L44649 and has a Dacromet finish for marine use. If the bearing numbers match you can use # T10HREKITBB for a replacement.
