Today we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve. This value is an inch and a half bladex valve. It's going to allow you to replace, repair or upgrade to a new, dependable valve system. It's going to feature a die-cast, aluminum handle that's very strong and durable. It's also going to feature a stainless steel shaft that's going to be highly resistant to rust and corrosion, and that's also very strong and durable. Now bladex valves are interchangeable. It'll work with most other brands. It does come with the necessary items to get it installed, so you're going to get brand new seals, one for each side.
Then you're going to get brand new nuts and bolts for the installation. Now the seals are made from santoprene construction that's designed to resist chemicals and corrosion. When you're ready to install the unit, you'll need to remove your old valve and old seals and place your new seals over the lip over the existing flange fittings. If you look closely on the flange when you remove the old seals, you'll notice that there's a groove that those seals are actually going to sit in. Once you get those in place, you want to be careful not to dislodge the seals when you're inserting your new valve.
Then once you have everything set, everything in place, you can go in and install your hardware and tighten everything down. A few measurements that I want to go over with you real quick in regards to the valve system. Right here is the overall length with it in the closed position, that's going to give us a measurement of about six and a half inches. It's just got really nice operations so when you're ready to open up the waste system the handle's very easily accessible, it's got an easy-grip T-shape design to it, and it's just got a nice, smooth operation so you can open and close the valve as needed. With it in the open position, overall length is now extended to about eight and five eighths of an inch. The width of the unit, we're looking at about two and seven eighths, thickness is going to be five eighths of an inch thick.
Now the mount hole design on the unit, it's going to be a square design. Those are separated on center by two and a half inches. It's going to be the same between each hole. If we take a measurement of the actual opening, just the diameter, it's going to measurement about one and three quarters of an inch. That's going to do it for today's look at the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve.
