The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.
Surface-mount lights install flat against the surface of the trailer, so a hole does not need to be cut into the trailer for the light. This type of light is installed using a flange or bracket that has mounting holes. And mounting hardware is used to secure the light to the trailer.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Optronics thin line LED trailer tail light. This low profile trailer tail light serves three functions on trailers over 80 inches wide, such as your stop, turn, and tail light functions. It's a sonically sealed waterproof housing and lens unit that is submersible. So this can be completely submersed in water and still operate just fine. It's got a nice waterproof design to it. It is LED.
Now LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer, they burn brighter, and they're more efficient. With an LED system, you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs and you don't have to worry about inaudible 00:00:35 filaments.We're looking at a durable polycarbonate lens and housing, has a nice clear lens over red LEDs. It's compatible with 12 volt DC systems, surface mounts on the trailer, hardware not included. It's a three wire design.
White wire is your ground wire, red is for your stop and turn lights and black is your main power wire for your tail lights. It's FMVSS compliant for trailers over 80 inches wide and it's SAE and Department of Transportation Compliant.Now when it comes to the overall dimensions I measured edge to edge and got a measurement of 16 inches long, top to bottom or side to side is 1-5/16th of an inch, front to back is 11/16th of an inch deep. The mount holes on the unit, there's two of them. One on each end. They're separated on the center by 14.5 inches.
The unit contains a total of 11 LEDs or 11 diodes. We're gonna go ahead and hook this up to power that way you can see what it looks like with power running to it. I will also be able to turn off the overhead light so you can see it in a low light setting. Again, white wire is our ground wire, red is for stop and turn, and black is for the tail lights.So here you can see it sends out a really nice, clear, consistent signal. Again, clear lensing over red LEDs.
When we apply the brakes you can see how that signal output increases and it does the same thing when we activate our turn signals. Again 11 diodes so the multi-diode design really helps optimize the overall light output. Power draw at 12.8 volts is 0.012 amps and Optronics puts a lifetime warranty on the LEDs. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Optronics thin-line LED trailer tail light.

These work well and the lights are very visible. I have these on all of my utility trailers and I think that they are a good safety backup for the tail lights. Have had No problems with water intrusion or LED failures.

Not s direct fit. I put in the part number expecting a direct fit. I will have to tap out new screw holes and the back wires will be a tight fit not lining up with the hole. It is also not as bright as the original
ORDERING WAS EASY. THE FIRST LIGHT I ORDERED SEEMED TO TAKE FOREVER, BUT I WAS JUST WANTING IT AND WAS NOT PATIENT. THE 2ND LIGHT DIDN'T SEEM TO TAKE FOREVER. PROBABLY BECAUSE I DID NOT NEED IT ASAP. I ORDERED 2 BECAUSE I WANTED BOTH TO HAVE ALL THE IDODES WORKING.

The products are very good, but getting them in a timely manner is another. Ordered on 4/19/21,shipped on 4/29/21 they were in stock received them 5/2/21. Will think about ordering in the future. I have gotten things in the past a lot sooner.

I would like to help to see if we have a light that would work for you. How far apart are the mounting holes on your trailer? The distance between the mounting holes on this light was 14.50 inches. We do have other similar lights that may be better suited. We have part # STL89RCB which is 17 inches overall and the distance between the mounting holes is 16.125 inches. We also have part # STL69RCB which is 15 inches overall and the distance between the mounting holes is 14.125 inches.
