Today we're reviewing part number STL111RFB from Optronics. This is a 6 1/2 inch oval glow light LED stop, turn, and tail light with a standard three prong connection, which you can see here. This is an innovative tail light that serves as the brake light, the turn signal, and the tail light. It has an outer band of red LEDs as you can see here and that's your tail light. This band of lights does get brighter when you apply your brakes. In the center you have a row of red LEDs and those will light when you apply your brakes or use your turn signal.

You also have a red polycarbonate housing and lens which are sonically sealed and water proof and a built in polycarbonate mounting flange for easy installation. This light uses surface mount technology and what that does is protect the LEDs from moisture shock and vibration and it allows for thinner construction. This light meets all the requirements for automotive lighting from the Department of Transportation. It uses, as I said, a standard three prong plug. We'll plug the light into that using these connectors. The black wire is for power. The red wire is your 12 volt and the white wire with the ring terminal is your ground. Remember that your ground wire should always be installed on a clean, unpainted metal surface. Now we can turn the power on, turn our overhead light off and there's your tail light.

Now this band of lights will get brighter when you apply the brakes like this and there's your center row of lights. That's your brake light and this is your turn signal. Now we can turn our overhead light back on. This light measures 6 1/2 inches from side-to-side. It's 2 and 1/8th inches tall and it's one inch deep, or thick. There's a lifetime warranty on the LEDs and a three year warranty on the housing and the wiring.
