Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.
SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.
The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.
The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.
These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).
SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

No-drill installation.I believe it’s going to be a great addition to my truck when pulling our RV. Looking forward to a smoother, more even ride. I left the 2x4 blocks in overnig8ht and drove around to ensure a good seat for the springs.
Took a chance on purchasing a set of SumoSprings that were listed as used and at a good discount. Had an issue with one seating well on my 2024 Chevy 2500. This may be why it was “used” and returned. Eventually got it to seat. Hopefully it stays in place and does not come loose while going down the road. In a month or so I will update this review if it will allow me to do so. This is the third set of SumoSprings I have purchased and used on various vehicles. Over all so have been pleased with the products as well as etrailer.
They worked pretty good. They kept my vehicle from bottoming out when towing my 5th wheel camper. They also helped to avoid bucking and chucking upon acceleration. In addition to these though I also purchased RAC rear suspension enhancement springs but having towed with them yet. Hoping for some improvement in general handling.
My order arrived 4 days early, WOW. I did use 2 flat blade screw drivers to remove the old bumpers. When I installed the new Sumo Springs I put a little liquid soap on the top edges, this helped pop them in. I also used a piece of 2X4 to help push them in, and quickly released the floor jack and this seated them in fully. Quick install took about 20 min. I have less than 1" at the bottom. Unloaded ride is same as before. With my trailer attached (1200 LBS hitch weight) the short test drive I felt much better control and less bounce. Very happy with product and etrailer. THANK YOU!

This is what was needed to keep the truck level when the 5th wheel camper is attached. Works great better ride. 22Chevrolet HD DURAMAX. Camper is a 40 ft. 5th wheel
Good piece of gear, works great supporting my new grand design 5th wheel. Installing was easy, only information I can pass is the 2x4 was not enough to seat the spring, had to add another 1/2 piece of wood to help seat the spring inside the cup..

Great, after 1 year the spring is still doing its job. No issues no complaints
Received order on time and no issues. The product however does not fit my 2022 Chevy 2500HD, the head of the Sumo spring that fits in the pocket on the truck frame does not clip in over the tabs in the cup, looks like the Sumo spring has to much material for it to seat. Tried soapy water and even tried Fluid Film to get it to seat. No rust in the cup. Put original bumps back in and will return these. Nice concept, no joy.
Works well to provide support with my 5th Wheel trailer. Helps with travel on the springs
Easy install! The most time consuming part is getting tools together! I found that prying with a large flat-blade screwdriver worked best to remove the old bump-stops.
There's about a 1/2" gap between the Sumosprings and the axle with B&W 5th wheel hitch installed but no trailer, so no change in ride when "empty". I haven't tested the Sumosprings with my 5th wheel hooked up yet.
Improved load carrying and reduced porpoising but introduced lateral sway when compressed as can be seen on videos
Sumo springs really helps on heavy load situations & helps the ride as well. Easy to install, does everything the company said & what I expected it to do. Etrailer ,their staff with their expertise & knowledge of the products as well as with tutorials , pictures & videos makes me come back to purchase products that they distribute.

Good so far. It does what I expected it to do, additional support for the heavy loads I’m carrying & not noticeable when unladen.
Very good but I had to trim it to fit properly. Still fully satisfied
I added helper springs to my 3500 chev and between the over loads springs and the sumo 1500 springs handls the 2800 pound king pin weight on my 35 foot 5th wheel AWESOME.
They made a huge difference when pulling my 37' fifth wheel camper. Easy to install on 2016 Chevy 2500HD vs. dealing with air bags and on-board compressors
The application was straightforward... though prying out the OEM jounces and applying the new ones were more difficult than expected.
Harry and Harriet Homeowner can install this in their garage without a lift. Jacking the weight off the tires and supporting the frame gives you more room to work. Using a 2x4 to aid in compression and seating the SumoSpring REALLY helped.
The final result is excellent on our 2015 GMC 3500HD.
Run for 1year now and they are fantastic! They stabilize the ride under heavy load. Compensate when the overloads are under heavy stress. An excellent option for those who don't quite need the whole air ride suspension.
Barely did anything that I was expecting. Did not help with the truck squat and therefore did nothing to minimize the fifth wheel bucking.

You may like having airbags better. Part # F2613 if you have two wheel drive or part # F2613 for four wheel drive from Firestone is a great place to start. You are able to adjust the amount of support depending on if you are hauling or not. You wont have to uninstall anything when the bags arent needed and the quality of the ride wont suffer.
Great stability when my pickup camper is on , acts like a heavy duty sway bar keeping my truck flat on curves. Also helps leveling with heavy loads on.
Great set of custom helper springs. A small problem with the temp in Mich. at 0* , warmed them up indoor over night, using a 4/6 all is well. Supper instructions from Sumo Springs, enjoyed the job, Thanks for the usual fast shipping, Gil Ruehmeier
They helped a little on my 2500 hd Silverado but,wasn't what I needed. I am now going to get Sumo springs for my 38ft 5th wheel .
Removal of the old and installation of the new was fairly straight forward. However, you do need to be a little more creative on the installation side. I followed the instructions several times before deciding to drive with the 2x4's in place until the springs actually seated. I knew when I heard the pieces fall out. I would suggest not driving on a busy road during this portion. I give the install about a 3.
Easy product to install and works as intended by leveling out the rear of my 2021 Chevy 2500HD pulling my 5th wheel. Ride difference was improved as well.

Easy to self install and have been exactly what I wanted. They have smoothed out the ride when we hook up to our 16,000 pound Montana. They also have leveled out the truck when hooked up. Well worth the expense.

To celebrate our anniversary with our trailer suspension we drove from the Western Slope of Colorado to eastern Kansas, picked up a larger and heavier travel trailer and had no issues with the additional weight. Our suspension performed flawlessly. Thank you trailer for your support and super products.
