Hello, neighbors, Steve here with etrailer.com. Folks, today we're looking at our Specialty Recreation universal replacement skylight for a 14 by 22 inch rough opening in a nice white color. Now folks, you're gonna get three of these. I'm gonna go ahead and move a couple of them out of the way just so I can showcase the one individually. So again, you're gonna need a 14 by 22 inch long cutout. Now, overall edge to edge, I measured 26 long edge to edge, 18 wide on the actual exterior of this.
Has a five inch tall bubble. As you can see, it's a white material, it's kind of translucent, it's gonna diffuse light and reduce glare. And the installation, hardware and sealant is not included, so you will need to pick up some screws and sealant. But the nice thing is, as you can see, it's got the screw holes already drilled in place from the manufacturer. There's a view of the inside, again, just your standard bubble for the skylight.
Now folks, the fact that this is a three pack, it makes it easy to get, maybe have an extra round, or if you wanna install three, you got a pack of three. It's gonna replace damage or worn skylights on your RV, camper or enclosed trailer. Now folks, again made here in the US, quantity three, one year warranty. Again, make sure you're getting the right sealant as well. So Specialty Recreation sells a sealant that we carry here sold separately.
I recommend you get that. And you don't want to use any self-leveling sealants that are out there because the polycarbonate and the chemicals and those self-leveling do not mix, and that would cause a catastrophic failure at the part where you need it to be sealed the best. So again, make sure you pick up the Specialty Recreation adhesive sold separately. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
All Good!
Received just in time!
Installed in a couple of hours with removal of old skylight. Fit perfect.
Excellent experience as always with etrailer !
Overall, these are very good replacement skylights. They're molded very well, and are slightly thicker than the original one on my TT that had cracked and been leaking unbeknownst to me since last year. The only complaint is that they're predrilled, and at least 5 of the holes were too close to screw holes from the
original skylight which I didn't want to reuse. Drilling extra holes with virtually no splitting or spalling wasn't difficult at all, but this left 5 irregularly spaced open holes in the skylight edge that simply ended up being filled when the butyl rubber sealant was being compressed as it was screwed into position. The end result should still be very robust and decent looking after I'm able to apply the selected lap sealant as soon as weather permits, but I could have easily established my own optimal screw hole pattern if there had been no predrilled holes. Still very pleased, though.

I appreciate your insight Thomas, this is valuable feedback! Even with the hole issue, I'm glad you were able to get this installed and seal the deal. Looks like you’ll have the perfect view once the weather cooperates, keep those positive vibes shining through :)
