Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this SmartPlug 25 foot long, 30 Amp Female to 15 Amp Male Marine Power Cord. Now, this cord will let you connect your boat to shore power using the SmartPlug multi-point locking system connector on this end. This is a 30 amp female connector. Plugs into a SmartPlug inlet that's on your boat. And you can see it is designed, you push into the SmartPlug connection and these clips on each side will lock it into place.
On the other end is your normal 15 amp wall plug connector that'll plug in at your dockside pedestal or into an extension cord. We mentioned the SmartPlug uses the multi-point locking system that ensures a nice, solid connection. You can see the sleeve design helps keep the weight and the tension off of the electrical pins themselves. The body of the whole plug will bear the weight to keep the points of electrical contacts secure. And you can see when you plug it in, it is a straight in connection of the female end right here.
Makes plugging in very easy, even in the dark. They do use triple weatherproof seals to help prevent water corrosion or overheating. And the other neat feature on this is if you look at the top of the connector right here. They have an LED reverse polarity indicator light, which will confirm the correct connection. So, basically, if this light is off when you plug it in, that means there's no power.
If you plug it in and there's a blue light on there, that's normal power. If you plug it in and there's a blue on and a red light on, that means it's reverse polarity. You need to switch it around. If you plug it in, it's just the red on, that means it's dangerous reverse polarity. You notice it comes with this nice snap-on clear cap.
It'll snap right in there, protects the terminals when it's not plugged in. And it's also clear, which helps you easily see the type of plug it in, plug it is because if you notice, it is marked there. So even with the cap on, you can see through it and see what type of plug it is. Now, the construction on this, all the external metals are Marine Grade 316 stainless steel. The electrical pins are nickel plated brass. The plastics used are all UV and heat resistant. You can see the cord itself is a nice, bright orange color for visibility, and it says made in the USA. Total length on this is 25 feet and the amperage, female end's 30 amps. Male end is 15 amps and the voltage is 125 volts. But that should do it for the review on the SmartPlug 25 foot long, 30 Amp Female to 15 Amp Male Marine Power Cord..
