This is a rave-worthy upgrade for your RV. It extends far enough for you to grab hold before taking the first step up, and it folds flat without obstructing your door or slide out. Feels sturdier and looks better than what you're used to.

Specs:
This folding handrail comes in 2 sizes, the 42" handrail for 2-3 step entrances and the 50" handrail for 3-4 step entrances. If you have 2 or 4 steps, the choice is clear. If you have 3 steps, it may come down to how much clearance you have below the door.
The 50" handrail, when folded, extends almost 11" past the lower mounting bracket. That basically means your RV should have at least 11" of skirting, so when the handrail is in the folded position, it doesn't extend further than the skirting.
The area around your RV door is possibly going to have some obstructions around it, and you really should take a look and see if there's anything there that will cause problems.
The bottom bracket is 6" wide and must be attached to the RV's hardwood floorboard, which is roughly in line with the bottom of the door frame. If you have at least 6" between the door frame and any obstructions or a slide out, you should be good to go. Trim pieces can be cut and removed where there might be an issue, but be ready to properly seal them to keep moisture out.
When you take this out of the box, you'll see that there is a roll pin installed in the rail that will keep it set at a 38-degree angle. If you need it at a steeper, 45 degrees, the pin can be knocked out.

Hello, neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Folks, we're taking a look together at this 42-inch long Stromberg Carlson Lend-A-Hand. It's an RV handrail for double and triple steps. So folks, this will replace the stock grab handle to give you something that's easier to reach, and does extend out from 34 and an eighth inches to 42 inches of total rail length. And it does fold up flat against your trailer much like it is here whenever it's installed. So it would get installed on the side of the RV or camper and be flat.
Now, unfortunately, I'm not gonna be able to show you too good without installing this on something, which it just can't do today with this demo table. But I wanna fill up an image of what this looks like when it is installed. So as you can see, the user there has her hand on the handrail. You can see that bar down there at that 38-degree angle, and it's a nice handrail. And then whenever it's not in use, again, it's getting flat against the camper.
So basically this side here and this bracket here would be screwed into the side of the RV or camper. When you wanna use the rail, it simply could slide or this arm, rather, could slide and give you the right angle you need to get in and out of that camper RV. So again, unfortunately, I'm just kind of limited on space here. I'd love to show you this installed, but I'm sure we're gonna have some other videos of us installing this, and in use that you can check out as well. Nice product.
It seems very, very sturdy. It's got a nice grip on it. Let me zoom in here. So, I got a pretty big hand, so I can pretty much get my fingers right around it. So, most people out there probably couldn't do that unless you have a big hand like mine.
So it's pretty, pretty nice as far as the size, the grip, and everything here. It's got indentions, and slits, and everything to give you a nice grip. You do get a pin here. That's for the holes down here. Whenever you're not using it, you can put that pin through there and that'll keep it in place while you're going down the road. You get all the value hardware here, four of these shorter screws and then eight of the longer ones. Now, one thing to note is that the bottom hinge bracket must be secured into hardwood floorboard to be installed correctly. That's per the manufacturer and per the instructions. Well, folks, that's gonna wrap it up for our quick look today at this lend-a-hand RV handrail. Again, 42 inches. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
